April has been a busy month for Co-Mo Connect, as we continue to get our subscribers online and hooked up to telephone service. There are just a handful of businesses, seasonal residents and subscribers who needed an extra month to finish an existing contract left to go.

Uh-oh. Your Internet/phone isn't working. Now what? 

Co-Mo Connect is proud to offer tech support 24 hours a day, every day of the year. But before you call them, you might be able to solve the problem on your own. 

The most common issue we're seeing subscribers make is plugging this device... 
 UPS

... into a power strip instead of a wall outlet. What's happening is that subscribers are doing the energy-smart thing and turning their power strip off. Your service's battery backup then kicks in. This backup is a great safety feature of Co-Mo Connect service, which allows for six to eight hours of phone access should your power go out. But in this case, after six to eight hours, the battery dies and subscribers are then reporting their Internet and phone service isn't working. 

The simplest solution is to make sure you plug this device into a wall outlet, not a power strip. If that's the case and your Internet or phone isn't working, the first thing to check is to make sure there are two green lights on this device, as seen in the photo above. If not, try unplugging it and then plugging it back in.

What installation involves

Crews are in the process of visiting subscribers to hook them up to the Co-Mo Connect network. There are two parts to installing your service. The first part involves hooking equipment up outside, including a small box called an ONT on the side of your home. This is also called a "drop." You do not need to be home during this process. If you are concerned about where this equipment will be located or have any issues with underground wires or sprinkler system, please call our customer service department at (800) 781-0157.

 

The second part is the in-home installation. You will receive a call from our installers to schedule this visit. You must be home for this portion of the installation.

 

Crews are working efficiently to get as many subscribers as possible online as soon as they can. Thanks for your patience.

Voice service update

Testing is taking place on voice services in our north pilot project area. We'll be launching it in a matter of days if all tests are successful. If you want to keep your phone number and are in one of the areas we are able to do this, have a copy of your phone bill handy.
