A Few Notes

Happy Month of the Holy Name of Jesus! We hope you will consider visiting with Jesus tonight in the Chapel, where He will be until 8 AM tomorrow morning. To learn about the requirements and benefits of the First Friday Devotion, click HERE.

Due to the snow forecast, we will be streaming the 4 PM Vigil instead of the 9 AM. We want everyone to be safe, but please remember that streaming is available for the sick and the homebound, and every effort should be made to attend Mass if conditions allow.

The Bereavement Gathering which was scheduled for Sunday is cancelled. The next meeting is February 4th.

Earlier this week, the prayer requests were accidentally sent to this list instead of the Prayer Team list. Many of you commented on how nice it was to receive the notice and pray for everyone. If you would like to join our Prayer Team and receive further notices you need to sign up HERE. We try to limit it to once a week unless an emergency request comes in.

We hope all of our parish families had the Merriest Christmas and Happiest New Year. Our Family Faith Formation program resumes this Wednesday, January 10, for families with last names A-L.  The second FFF gathering will be held January 17. Our focus this month is on the Miracles of Jesus. Welcome back!

The Moms Group is hosting a Catechism in a Year discussion group beginning on January 11th. Listen and read along with the popular Ascension podcast at home and join together for discussion on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month. The group will be meeting in a private home in Lone Lane Park, and children are welcome! To join us, email Jenn Keim at HERE or text or call 610-217-8211.

The Labor of Love Crafters will be meeting on Tuesday from 1 PM-3:30 PM in room 3/4. We look forward to seeing everyone! If learning something new is on your agenda for 2024, please join us! Contact Yvonne HERE.

Perhaps you received a Christmas gift this year that you simply can't use. The Women's Guild has the solution! Please donate your new and unused items which the Guild will place in gift baskets that we raffle off at Craftfest. It's a win-win opportunity to help our Parish. There is a blue bin in the vestibule for your donations. Thank you for your generosity!

That Man is You! honestly addresses the pressures and temptations that men face in our modern culture, especially those relating to their roles as husbands and fathers. The program harmonizes current social and medical science with the teachings of the Church and the wisdom of the saints to develop the vision of man fully alive. Research shows TMIY to be one of the most life-transforming programs ever studied. All men are invited regardless of whether they have attended before or not. This program will restart on Wednesday mornings or Saturday mornings from 7-8 AM, beginning either January 17th or 20th.

Family Promise will be hosting our homeless families in need, along with Jordan Lutheran Church, during the weeks of January 21st and 28th.  There are three opportunities to help 1) make and deliver a meal - 2)host during dinner - 3) sleep overnight. Volunteer van drivers are also needed (no special license required.)We invite you to take a look at the sign up genius to see where you may be able to help. If you have any questions or want more information about Family Promise at St. Joe’s please email Fran HERE or call Ruth 484-809-2044. To learn more about Family Promise of the Lehigh Valley click to HERE.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God,

I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
