A Few Notes

For those who watch our Live-Stream Mass: We were hit by a surge which destroyed one of our cameras and damaged other parts of our system. We have been relying on an outside company to make repairs over the past few weeks and apologize for any inconveniences to our homebound population.

On that note, please be aware that unless you are homebound or contagious, there is no longer a dispensation from Mass, and watching the live-stream does not fulfill your Sunday obligation. All Catholics are required to attend Sunday Mass or any vigil on the previous evening after 4 PM in person.

Grandparents are invited to bring their grandchildren for a craft event centered around our Guardian Angels this Saturday morning at 9:30 AM in room 5/6.

Convocation for our priests will take place in Hershey this coming week. We will not have daily Mass at St. Joseph the Worker Monday through Friday, but you can attend Mass at other local parishes listed on page 2 of the Bulletin HERE.

All seniors age 55 and over are invited to the Senior Fellowship Meeting and Luncheon on Tuesday at noon.

The Youth Group is planning a trip to Bear Rock Junction for Glow Mini-Golf. If interested, please RSVP below.

Our Food Pantry is in need of the following items:

  • Mac and Cheese
  • Instant Mashed Potatoes
  • Spaghetti Sauce
  • Jelly
  • Ramen

Please place items in basket in the hallway outside the cry room. Thanks you!

All students in grades 8-12 are welcome to join us for Glow Mini-Golf and ice-cream at Bear Rock Junction on Tuesday, September 24th from 6:30-8:00 PM. RSVP to youthminister@stjwchurch.org ASAP!

Family Faith Formation meets again on October 25 from 6:00-7:30 PM for families with last names beginning M-Z.

All students and parents will meet in the gym. Our Catechesis topic will be Creation and Sin.  Parents will enjoy enrichment and discussion with theology teacher, Jason Bach. Mr. Bach holds a master's in theology from St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and is working on a second master's degree in philosophy. He has held positions at LaSalle and DeSales, Notre Dame High School, and is currently in his eighth year of teaching at Allentown Central Catholic High School.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God,

I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
