A Few Notes

Today is First Friday. Jesus will be waiting in the Chapel overnight and would love to meet you there if you could spare just one hour.

The Youth Group will be meeting under the canopy at the main entrance of the Church at 8:30 AM this Saturday morning. They will also meet on Sunday at noon as a result of how the calendar fell this month. What a great weekend! Also, check out the sign-up for Friendsgiving and the Steubenville Youth Conference below!

There will be no 8:30 AM Mass this Saturday. Instead, the annual Bereavement Mass will take place at 10 AM for the members of our parish who passed away over this year. See below.

Meet your friends at Church this Sunday for our monthly Parish Breakfast.

Next week is Priest Convocation. There will be no daily Masses at St. Joseph the Worker, but the Cathedral will have Mass at 8 AM daily.

Gina is praying that she doesn't have to Deep Clean the whole Church by herself on Thursday. Please meet her in the vestibule at 9:15 AM with a bucket and a rag if you would also hate for that to happen! :)

Now is the time to reserve the Advent Greens in memory of your loved ones. See the bulletin HERE on page 5 for the updated list of items remaining. Contact Anne in the office HERE or 610-395-2876.

Please RSVP HERE if you are planning to attend the reception after the Church Consecration on November 22. Thank you!

Bereavement Mass

There will be a Bereavement Memorial Mass this Saturday at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited and there will be a reception following the Mass in the Parish Center room 3/4 immediately following the Mass. Everyone is invited to come to Mass and pray for those members of our parish who passed away this year, but the reception is reserved for those families who were invited and who have sent in their RSVP.

Labor of Love Crafters

Crafters Robin and Frank Steinhofer doing charity work looming hats for the poor, in anticipation of the cold weather ahead. What a great project to do together! The repetitive movement of looming also makes it very easy to recite the rosary during quiet times.

Have you ever seen Crafter Ruth Joyce knitting in the Chapel while making bereavement blankets? Surely, Our Lady will send extra blessings with those special offerings.

Our next meetings are November 10, December 8, January 12 & 26 from 1-3 PM in room 3/4.

St. Joseph's Childrens Choir

Children's Choir will begin Rehearsals on Sunday November 15, December 13 and December 20th immediately following the 11:00 Mass in the Parish Center Room 1. We invite all children (Grades 2-6) to join us as we prepare for the 4:00 PM Christmas Eve Family Mass held in the Parish Center. Please see Mark O'Hearn for more information.

Brass Ensemble Forming

Do you play a Brass instrument? Our expanding music program is looking at forming a Volunteer Brass Ensemble to play for worship once a month. The group will consist of Two Trumpets, One Trombone, One French Horn and One Tuba. It is necessary to read music at an intermediate level to join this group. We hope to form this new ministry in Spring 2027 if there is enough interest. Please contact Mark O'Hearn for more information HERE.

The Women's Guild will meet this Tuesday at 6 PM in the Parish Center to begin preparations for Craftfest. We will be skirting tables, completing various kitchen tasks, etc. We do hope to see you there!

All students in grades K-8 are encouraged to enter the Knights of Columbus Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest. Each poster must be a visual image that reflects the Keep Christ in Christmas theme. Applications are available in the vestibule (see the neon green posterboard), and winners in each category will be awarded cash prizes. Completed and signed entry forms should be attached to posters and left in the box provided in the vestibule before the December 1 deadline.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God, I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen

Pray for Vocations

God our Father, please send us holy priests and religious, all for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all for the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, in union with Saint Joseph.

Amen

Pray for a Culture of Life

Come Holy Spirit and fill the hearts of the faithful with zeal for life, and grant them the courage to defend the unborn, the elderly, and the sick.

Amen
