A Few Notes

Today is First Friday, and the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed overnight for adoration in the Chapel. If there is a lot going on in your life right now, it might be time for a nice long chat with the Lord. We hope you will consider a visit. If a Holy Hour seems overwhelming, keep in mind that 15 minutes with Jesus is better for your spiritual health than no time at all!

October is Respect Life Month. As evil rises up in the world, Respect Life Month reminds Catholics that we are not crazy for supporting life...we are expected to support it! We, too, must rise up in solidarity to profess God's Commandment, "Thou shalt not kill." While abortion was always the primary focus, euthanasia of the elderly and assisted suicide of the sick and depressed are also being normalized. None of these things support the dignity of the human being and all of them take life. Fr. Brelinsky invites you to a Pro-Life Pilgrimage on October 10th (info below), and the 40 Days for Life campaign is taking place throughout the month. We hope you will consider supporting life in some way this month, even if you simply pray for the success and safety of those who take action, as well as an end to this terrible scourge.

We will be blessing your pets on Sunday at 12:30 PM in front of the 3-Car Garage. Please leash or cage your pets for the safety of all.

As the holidays approach and grief sets in, perhaps it may help to attend our monthly Bereavement Gathering this Sunday at 12:15 PM in room 3/4. Regardless of when your loss occurred, you are always welcome.

Youth Group is meeting this Saturday for Mass, Breakfast and Bible Study. Pick up at 10:30 at the Parish Center entrance.

The Women's Guild is meeting this coming Tuesday at 7 PM in the Parish Hall. All women are encouraged to attend!

The Middle Adult Service & Social Group (M.A.S.S) will be meeting at Twisted Tees in the Wind Creek Outlet Center on Wednesday at 6:15 PM for mini-golf. If you are between the ages of 35 and 55, see below for more details!

We will be holding an Altar Server Training on October 17th at 11 AM in the Church for youth ages 10 and up who have made their First Holy Communion and are interested in serving on the altar. Please RSVP with your child's name, age and your phone number to Gina HERE. Current servers are also welcome to attend, no RSVP necessary.

40 Days for Life is an internationally coordinated 40-day campaign that aims to end abortion locally through prayer and fasting, community outreach, and peaceful all-day vigil in front of the abortion business at 29 N. 9th St. Allentown. St. Joseph the Worker is being asked to cover Tuesday's from 7am-7pm or whatever day your schedule permits. Please consider offering one hour per week for this very worthy cause. For more information you can visit 40daysforlife.com of call Sandra at 610-703-7161. Thank you for prayers and help with this campaign.

There are still open slots! Help us pray the Rosary in October before all the Masses by leading at the cantor's podium prior to one of the Masses you typically attend. Arrive 30 minutes early, then follow the written prayers in the binder that is provided on the podium. Thank you for helping us honor Our Lady! Sign up HERE.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God, I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen

Pray for Vocations
