A Few Notes

Happy Thanksgiving and safe travels to you and your families. The Parish Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, and there will be no Helping Hands sales or Adoration. Bible Study, and Choir are canceled this week. In the coming week, all will return to the usual schedule.

Advent Little Blue Books are available in a basket in the vestibule, as well as 2026 Church Calendars and Oplatky ($3 per pack).

The Giving Tree has made its appearance in the vestibule once again. Your participation helps support Catholic Charities, Family Promise, our Divine Mercy Food Pantry, and Works of Mercy here at our parish. Times really are tough for many people, and it has become a daily occurrence for people to call and come into the Parish Office looking for help. Your generosity through the Giving Tree allows us to provide for them immediately, with food and the means to acquire the necessities they need. If you are able, please take a tag (or a few), purchase the cards at the Helping Hands table in the vestibule, and place your cards in the white slotted box on the table. Thank you for your generosity!

Have you noticed that we are having a Live Nativity on December 7th at 12:30 PM? You are welcome to come over to the manger after the 11 AM Mass to socialize before the live animals, Holy Family, and all the actors are in place by 12:30. Afterward there will be hot chocolate and fellowship. You will see it advertised as beginning at 12 PM and you are welcome to join us at that time, but the activities will begin at 12:30.

Since your children will already be here on the 7th, consider bringing them to Youth Choir rehearsal at noon in Parish Center room 1. This short rehearsal will be finished before the Live Nativity begins. There is only one other rehearsal the following Sunday at noon, and the Youth Choir will sing the prelude at the 4 PM Mass on Christmas Eve.

If you have been thinking about becoming Knight, the Knights of Columbus are hosting Monday night Football and the the Parish Christmas Party. These events are open to the whole parish, so consider attending and meeting some of these fine gentlemen! They also invite you to Become A Knight Before Christmas. See below for more information.

Bishop Schlert has a message for you HERE, and Monsignor Finelli has one for you below:

Knights of Columbus Council 10921 is sponsoring a poster contest for all student parishioners. Each poster must reflect the Keep Christ in Christmas theme with a visual image. Cash prizes awarded and first place winners will advance to the District level. Applications available in the vestibule. Deadline is this Sunday, November 30th. Drop box also located in the vestibule.

The newly formed Youth Choir will rehearse on December 7th and 14th at noon in room 1 in the Parish Center in preparation for Christmas Eve. They will sing the prelude for the 4 PM Mass on Christmas Eve. All are welcome from Grades 2-8.  Contact Mark O'Hearn HERE with any questions.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God,

I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
