A Few Notes

As a reminder, the Bishop will be here on Sunday at 11 AM for the Adult Confirmation Mass. It will be crowded and longer due to the Confirmation portion, so we highly recommend that you choose another Mass to attend, if that sounds unappealing.

If you missed it, the Bishop has announced the new priest assignments, and Fr. Brelinsky will no longer be our Parochial Vicar. The good news is that while he will be studying for a Canon Law degree in the summers and working full time as the chaplain at Allentown Central Catholic High School during the school year, he will still be in residence here at St. Joseph the Worker. Pray for him, and be sure to read his message in the bulletin this weekend. He leaves for school in Washington D.C. on May 31st and will be there for the summer months. Thank you, Father! We are so grateful for the everything you have done for our parish!

Fr. Ritz has also accepted a new assignment, so while he will also remain in residence, he will be celebrating Masses on the weekends in Tamaqua.

We are now beginning a Seven Sisters Apostolate to pray for Fr. Scheidel, our newly assigned Parochial Vicar. We are still looking for one prayer warrior who is willing to offer a Holy Hour on Saturday to complete his Seven Sisters. Contact Angela HERE if you are interested.

If you would like to join Monsignor Finelli's Seven Sisters and pray for him on Mondays, contact Gina HERE.

Don't forget to register your child for Vacation Bible School! See below.

Registration is also open for the 2026-2027 year of Family Faith Formation. Click HERE and use the blue button on the website to register your family!

We are still taking registrations for Fairway to Heaven, our School's largest fundraiser. Sign up to golf, attend the Knight to Fiesta Dinner or simply purchase a chance to win some cash during the Golf Balls from Heaven ball drop. You can find out more and make your purchases and reservations HERE. See below for details.

Finally, if you attend the Vigil Mass on Saturdays, this is the weekend Mass changes from 4 to 5 PM for the summer.

Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! The Office and Adoration will be closed on Monday.

Mary: A Biblical Walk with the Blessed Mother is an eight-session study that reveals Mary’s unique role in God’s kingdom and in our lives. Filmed on location in the Holy Land, this study places you within the powerful story of Mary’s earthly life, walking with her through her joys and her sorrows. Along the way, you will discover how Scripture unveils Mary’s role in God’s plan and how she continues to draw believers closer to her Son today. Seeing Mary in this way will change you forever. Mary will become a part of your daily life, and through her example you will grow more like Christ.

Program will run from July 1-August 19 at 9:30 AM in the Parish Center on Wednesday mornings and be lead by Kathy Schettini.

The workbook can be purchased directly from the Ascension Press website HERE, or Nancy Clee will order it for you by June 3. Contact her HERE.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God, I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
