A Few Notes

This Saturday we hope you will join us for a Night At The Races sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. This event is only $15 at the door and includes food and drinks (see below for more). The Middle Adult Service and Social group are meeting up there, so if you fit into that age bracket, be sure to seek them out!

We will be blessing throats after all Masses this weekend.

As we wind up Catholic Schools Week (after a snow that closed the School), the School Open House will take place on Sunday from 12-2. Do stop by!

You can support our school by voting for them in the Diocesan wide Make a Joyful Noise competition. View our video submission HERE and vote with a donation of any amount! Thank you for your support!

Trivia Night is always an entertaining FUNdraiser over at the School. Grab some friends and form a team. See below for details.

Ushers and Greeters: There is a required Safety Training this Monday, February 2 at 6:30 PM in the Church. You should have received an email. If you are not an usher or greeter yet but would like to be one, please attend.

The Food Pantry needs this week are Jelly, Sauce, Cereal, Crackers, Canned Fruit and Tuna Fish. Thank you!

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, we do hope that you will join our Bereavement Gathering at 12:15 PM this Sunday in room 3/4 in the Parish Center. Sharing often helps.

Catholic Grandparents Association Meeting

If you are a grandparent, we hope you will join us this Saturday, January 31 at 9 AM in room 5/6 in the Parish Center. Grandparents are the bedrock of a family and this is where we gather in unity to pray for our children and grandchildren and share our traditions with each other.

Night at the Races

The Knights of Columbus will once again host a Night at the Races this Saturday, January 31 in the Parish Center. Gates open at 5 PM and races will begin at 6 PM. Admission is $15 at the door, and includes a light dinner, hors d'oeuvres, snacks and refreshments including beer, wine and mixers. BYOB and snacks are fine, too!

You may want to reserve a table like the M.A.S.S. Group (see below), or come alone and meet some new friends.

Wondering how it works? We will play races on the big screen. You will have the opportunity to name a horse in any race (if it wins, you win). You can also bet in any race (ie: $2 on Monsignor Finelli's Champion). Even if your not a betting kind of person, it's a sure bet that you will have a great time!

No longer a Young Adult, but not quite a Senior? We are your people! Join the Middle Adult Service & Social (M.A.S.S) Group at the Night at the Races in the Parish Center on January 31st at 5 PM. $15 per person. Friends and family who are not in our age bracket (35-55) are always welcome to sit with us, so bring them along and RSVP HERE so we save you a seat!

We are also going Bowling on Monday, February 16th at the Haja Rose Bowl in Allentown from 7-9 PM. Bowlers pay for their own games and shoe rentals. RSVP HERE so we know how many lanes to reserve.

Reminder: If you would like to receive emails when the M.A.S.S. Group makes plans, please email Scott HERE. Some meet-ups are last minute and the list is their primary means of communication.

The Youth Group will be meeting on February 1 from 4-7 PM in the School. If you are in grades 8-12, we hope you will join us! Download the participation form HERE if you haven't attended an event yet this year.

Pray for Our Parish

Dear God, I believe that you have the ability to convert everyone at St. Joseph the Worker Church and I beg you to perform miracles in our lives that we will come to love you and never want to offend you.

I beg you to let us see our sins and run to the confessional, that the lines will be out the door.

Set the hearts of our priests on fire so that they burn with the desire for the conversion of every soul in the parish.

I implore you to make St. Joseph's a beacon in our diocese, that souls will be drawn by the holiness they find here.

I ask that you blind Satan to every parishioner, that they might have the space to know and love you without temptation.

I offer myself to you completely at whatever the cost.

Amen
