RU Marketplace Updates
New RU Marketplace User Experience
Jaggaer is implementing a new release in November 2021 that will launch a new RU Marketplace user experience interface. The new interface will be streamlined and simplified with easier access to information; transforming the end-to-end process across shopping, requisitions, purchase orders and invoices. The look and feel of RU Marketplace will undergo significant change, however, the underlying functionality remains the same. 

We have scheduled information sessions to provide an overview of the new user experience. Each information session will cover the same material and registration is not required. Plan to attend the one session that is most convenient for you based on your schedule.

International Wire Payment in USD Partnering with Western Union
The Project Management Office (PMO), Treasury, and Procurement Services have been working with Western Union on a new initiative to provide a secure wire request payment process to foreign suppliers that invoice in USD. This new process includes a self-service function for the suppliers to register their bank information and track payments in Western Union. This reduces the risk of fraud and puts the responsibility on the suppliers to keep accurate and safe profiles.  

In October, a pilot began with several suppliers. 

The goal is to fully launch this new process by the end of this year, then begin Phase 2 of the initiative for International Wire Payment in foreign currency.

Instructions Added to RU Marketplace Forms
We have added additional instructions to RU Marketplace Forms to provide guidance on attaching documents to requisitions.

Attaching documents to the correct requisition link helps speed up the requisition review and approval process.
Travel & Expense
Current Travel Guidelines Reminder
All domestic and international travel for faculty, staff, and students outside of the current non-restricted area of NJ, NY, PA, DE, & CT is still restricted without prior approval.

All airfare, hotel, and rental car reservations, including travel within the non-restricted area above, MUST be booked through the Rutgers-approved travel agency. Exceptions are made for hotel bookings associated with conference/convention room blocks and Airbnb.

Any travel that is not pre-approved and not booked with an approved travel agency will not be considered Rutgers-related business and will not be reimbursed.

Direct Travel is now the university’s exclusive travel agency.

Active reservations made through one of our previous agencies have not been affected.
