New in Prineville: ARC Center Opens

Same-Day, No-Barrier Behavioral Health Support for Youth

in Crook County

Rimrock Trails is proud to introduce the Assessment and Resource Center (ARC) in Prineville, a new program designed to provide fast, compassionate, and barrier-free support for youth ages 18 and under and their families in Crook County.

Located at our Prineville Outpatient Clinic on Combs Flat Road, ARC provides low-barrier, same-day assessments without the need for an appointment or referral, ensuring young people and their families can access help exactly when they need it.

ARC supports youth facing emotional, behavioral health, substance use, or situational challenges. The program also offers skills groups focused on building coping strategies, communication, and resilience. By connecting individuals to ongoing care and essential community resources, ARC serves as a gateway to additional services when needed.

With a dedicated care coordinator and a peer support worker who brings lived experience, ARC emphasizes trust, understanding, and immediate access to support, making it easier for youth and their families to take the first step toward care.

Meet a Counselor Behind the Care

Meet Peter Buhmann, LPC, an Outpatient Counselor at Rimrock Trails.

With 12 years of experience in clinical mental health, Peter brings a calm and compassionate presence to his work with clients. A graduate of Oregon State University, he has built his career in community mental health, focusing on developing strong, trusting therapeutic relationships.

Peter is passionate about helping individuals and families find relief, feel supported, and move forward with confidence. He works collaboratively with clients to create a safe space where meaningful progress can happen.

Outside the office, Peter enjoys gardening and caring for his ever-growing collection of houseplants.

Rimrock Trails' Volunteer Corner

Volunteer Spotlight: Ramona McCallister

Prineville Community Engagement Team

Rimrock Trails is proud to recognize Ramona McCallister for her dedication and impact as a volunteer. Based on both personal experience and a strong belief in the organization’s mission, Ramona knows firsthand how Rimrock Trails supports individuals and families across Central Oregon.

Inspired and encouraged by Community Engagement Coordinator Darleen Rodgers and through her connection with Community Relations Manager Michelle Duff while working as a reporter, Ramona was drawn to join the team. Their passion and leadership helped solidify her commitment to volunteering.

Ramona especially enjoys helping plan and participate in community fundraising events, where she sees the generosity of the community come to life. “Being part of something bigger than myself is what drives me,” she shares, noting how meaningful it is to support local youth and families in a direct way.

Outside of volunteering, Ramona enjoys weight training, hiking, painting with watercolors and acrylics, and writing. She continues to do contract writing and contributes to preserving local history through video interviews for the Bowman Museum. One of her personal goals is to combine her love of art and writing to publish a book.

Thank you, Ramona, for your passion and commitment to our mission!

With Gratitude & Thanks
