NEW AT RIMROCK TRAILS
Due to mental illness, last October we lost a beautiful soul way too early. But Kiefer's story didn't end there. Due to three ongoing campaigns, the love and light that Kiefer brought to so many lives on!
Kiefer's Story

Our son Kiefer was the light of our lives. A beloved son, brother, and friend. The last few years of his life, he suffered from debilitating anxiety, which led to severe depression. We knew he suffered, but we thought his struggles were normal as he coped with a complicated world, searched for meaningful employment, and tried to build stronger connections with others.

As a local hometown boy, Kiefer grew up in Redmond, Oregon, and attended Redmond High School. He later went on to graduate from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. He had a close-knit group of friends and was deeply loved by his family. None of us ever imagined that the depth of his struggles would lead him to take his life at the age of 26. A decision that devastated and shattered our family.

Kiefer masked his feelings as a coping strategy. Our family wants to eliminate this stigma and get people talking about the importance of mental health. In addition, we recognize that many individuals are unable to obtain services due to the cost of treatment and high deductibles. This is why we partnered with Rimrock Trails Treatment Services. Their team of mental health professionals works every day to provide comprehensive evidence-based behavioral health services for our shared community.

We would be grateful if you would unite in the movement and join or contribute to one or more of the three ongoing campaigns in honor of Kiefer. In doing so, together, we can shine a light on mental health awareness and ensure access to behavioral health services for children, teens, adults, and families, no matter their financial circumstances. - The Leutschaft Family

RUN FOR KIEFER

Please join Kiefer's best friend Vince and Rimrock Trails as we Run For Kiefer at the 2022 Eugene Marathon. We are running to honor Kiefer's legacy and to advance mental health awareness.
In Kiefer's honor, Wild Ride Brewing created Kiefer Magic Hazy IPA. For every pint sold, Wild Ride will donate $1.00 to Rimrock Trails. Join us for the kick-off party on April 1, 2022, which would have been Kiefer's 27th birthday.
THE KIEFER MAGICAL LEGACY FUND

Tax Deductible contributions made in honor of Kiefer will benefit the Kiefer Magical Legacy Fund. By donating to the fund, for years to come, you can shine a light on mental health awareness and ensure access to behavioral health services for individuals and families.

Rimrock Trails Introduces New Mindfulness Group
MEET OUR TEAM

Ofelia Sanchez
Student Intern From OSU Cascades

Originally from Mexico, Ofelia Sanchez came to Rimrock Trails in September 2021 through the OSU – Cascades Internship Program. She was curious what it would be like to work in an agency, and wonderfully, Rimrock Trails has surpassed her expectations!

Ofelia trained as a Gestalt therapist and continued with Somatics and Core Energetics, another psychotherapy approach that tends to an individual's relationship with mind, body, energy, and spirituality. Passionate about working with the body and awareness, she is the perfect Clinician to facilitate the Rimrock Trail’s Discover Mindfulness Group.

Ofelia will be graduating with her Master's soon and will continue to assist groups, adults, couples, and teens with their personal growth. She explains, “I have collected so many beautiful experiences through Gestalt that I want to keep sharing through groups and individual counseling, related to embracing our polarities: our light and our shadow and to increase one’s ability to enjoy life."

Ofelia, her husband, and two boys love doing the usual Bend activities. They have a Brussels dog that she says is very ugly but super sweet.

Thank you, Ofelia, for your dedication to the individuals and families we serve!
