NEW AT RIMROCK TRAILS

Exciting News – Our Adolescent Residential Treatment Program Welcomes Females Again!

Rimrock Trails is thrilled to announce that we are once again accepting females into our Adolescent Residential Treatment Program! This milestone marks the first time since the pandemic that we have been able to welcome young women into our program, following previous staffing shortages and scheduling challenges.

Under Terri Brabo's leadership and a strong emphasis on Collaborative Problem-Solving, our program continues to provide a safe and supportive therapeutic environment designed to foster growth, empowerment, and lasting change.

Our Adolescent Residential Treatment Program

Located in beautiful Prineville, Oregon, Rimrock Trails Residential Treatment Program is specifically designed for adolescents 12-17 years of age who are struggling with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders. Our program provides 24-hour structured care and allows teens to distance themselves from negative influences within their social environment. While stabilizing and moving through the stage of early abstinence we help teens build distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and the interpersonal skills necessary to lead a more positive and productive life.

We are excited about this opportunity to expand our impact and continue transforming lives. For more information, visit www.rimrocktrails.org or contact us at 541-447-2631.

This generous funding will ensure that the individuals we serve have access to essential enrichment activities and basic need items that support their mental health and recovery journey.

We extend our deepest appreciation to St. Charles Health System for their commitment to mental health and their investment in the well-being of our community. Together, we are creating brighter futures for those on the path to recovery.

RESOURCES FOR YOU

Honoring Mental Health Awareness Month This May

Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness in Americans’ lives and to celebrate recovery from mental illness. For more than 20 years, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has recognized Mental Health Awareness Month (MHAM) every May to increase awareness about the vital role mental health plays in our overall health and well-being and provide resources and information to support individuals and communities who may need mental health support.

SAMHSA has developed a conversation guide (PDF | 98 KB) to support a friend or loved one by providing them with access to services for mental health or substance use. This guide helps start conversations respectfully and helps guide the friend or loved one to resources that could help.

VOLUNTEER CORNER

Questions and Answers with Volunteer, Amber Wilson, Redmond Community Engagement Team Member

  1. What first motivated you to dedicate your valuable time and energy as a volunteer for Rimrock Trails? When Michelle (Rimrock Trails' Community Relations Manager) became involved with Rimrock Trails, I could see her passion, so I started getting involved. The more I learned the more I knew how important volunteers were to growing the organization. In addition, since it’s one of the few non-profit options for youth, it’s so important.
  2. How long have you volunteered for Rimrock Trails? Since 2020!
  3. What intrinsic rewards do you experience through your volunteer efforts? I believe it makes the community I live in better and stronger. I also believe in the ripple effect. You never know how far your actions, good or bad will impact someone. I always hope I create a big ripple!

Thank you, Amber, for all you do!
