Rimrock Trail's Recovery Mentor Program:
Transformed People Helping to Transform People
Certified Recovery Mentors engage with and provide support for individuals and families in both residential and outpatient treatment. Peer support is a unique and essential element of recovery rooted in mental health and substance use systems of care. They are health care professionals with similar life experiences who are able to listen, provide hope, and give guidance toward recovery in a way that is different, and just as valuable, as clinical services.
In addition to emotional support, Recovery Mentors also help those in early recovery reengage in their community through facilitating a client's opportunity for health care, legal and employment resources, skill-building, establishing community connections and relationships, mentoring, setting goals, and recovery advocacy.

Travis Weaver, CADC1, CRM
Recovery Mentor
|
|
Later this year, Recovery Mentor Travis Weaver, will be celebrating his 6
th
anniversary with Rimrock Trails. A Certified Recovery Mentor, Travis earned Bachelor Degrees in both Political Science and Art from the University of Oregon.
Prior to moving to Central Oregon, Travis volunteered at a non-profit in Eugene, Oregon called the Wow Hall, a
community center for the performing arts where he eventually became a staff member. With a desire to work in the non-profit sector, Travis worked as a volunteer coordinator and house manager. He was also the liaison between the Board of Directors and the community.
Travis is proud of his work as a Certified Recovery Mentor and has a vision for the program. He shares, “I would like to see the Recovery Mentor Program grow. A Recovery Mentor is a unique position. In my experience, some clients don’t relate to having a counselor and prefer a non-traditional therapy that a recovery mentor can offer.”
When not helping his clients, Travis can be found mountain biking, hiking, playing disc golf, and caving. He is also an avid record collector and travels to various record conventions to buy and resell his picks. Between LPs and 7” his collection boasts 5000 or more records!
Thank you, Travis, for all you do!
