Looking to Make the Redmond Clinic a Hub for Child and Family Counseling
|
|
We are delighted to announce our Redmond clinic is now specializing in child and family counseling!
Due to an urgent need in the community for child and family counseling services, Rimrock Trails hired Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jackie Taylor to offer specialized counseling services focused on children diagnosed with mental health disorders and their families. The clinic will continue to provide individual and group counseling services to persons of all ages and with Jackie's direction incorporate a specialized focus on children's mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief.
“I would like to see our Redmond clinic grow into a hub for child and family counseling in Central Oregon. In addition to school-aged children and teens, there is a need for counseling services for children 0-5 years of age. I believe because of our centralized location, experienced clinicians trained in treating children's mental health issues, and our ability to provide affordable mental health care we can create healing, connection and hope for Central Oregon children and their families. ” - Jackie Taylor, Child and Family Program Manager
Jackie came on board on March 2 and is currently scheduling clients.

Thank You to the Rimrock Trails Community

Thank you to our community partners for helping us March into spring!
Enrichment activities are essential to the treatment process provided to the teens in our Residential Treatment Program. We introduce kids to activities that they can do while they are chemical-free which replaces unhealthy behaviors and interrupts the pattern of addiction. Enrichment activities introduce the teens to sober fun and potential lifelong hobbies that they will be able to engage in throughout their lifetimes all while connecting with others who have similar interests.
This month we enlisted several community partners to help create and implement enrichment activities that have the potential to transcend our teen's lifespan and contribute to their confidence and esteem.

Many of the teens in our Residential Treatment Program have not had the opportunity to engage in the arts or humanities yet we know that exposing individuals to cultural programs promotes creativity, imagination, and stimulates growth.
With this in mind, our residential treatment program staff designed a program called,
A Year of Exposure
. Working with our community partners, this enrichment activity ensures that our residents have access to the arts and humanities by giving them the opportunity to view theatrical performances throughout the year.
We believe that by providing our residents with the opportunity to participate in the program, we will not only be enhancing their lives but also be furthering the larger mission of cultural development in our shared community.
Thank You to the Crook County Cultural Coalition and Thoroughly Modern Productions for supporting,
A Year of Exposure
.

We are so very thankful to the Crook County Cultural Coalition for supporting Rimrock Trail's,
A Year of Exposure
program. This wonderful group of volunteers granted Rimrock Trails $1,500 which will allow our teen residents the opportunity to see five plays performed by Thoroughly Modern Productions (TMP)
.

A Year of Exposure
could not have taken place without the generosity of TMP and Artistic Director, David DaCosta. The group generously provided our organization a $10 per ticket price for each of their five productions. This kindness resulted in an approximate $3,500 in-kind donation!
TMP is a community of theatrical storytellers valuing artistic education, performance innovation, audience engagement, and community involvement. TMP presents five performance throughout the year.
