THE LATEST FROM WYOMING SOCCER | | | WYOMING SOCCER AFFILIATED CLUB TEAM GOES INTERNATIONAL! | |
The Casper Blades 2010 Girls team recently returned from an unforgettable international soccer tour in Spain, organized by Bravo Sports Tours. From June 5–15, the team traveled across the country, playing matches, training with top coaches, and experiencing the rich culture of Spanish soccer.
The tour began in Madrid, where the team participated in professional training sessions and played their first international match. The journey continued to Valencia, offering a blend of competitive play and cultural exploration. The final leg took the team to Lloret De Mar, just outside Barcelona, where they trained again and competed in their final matches.
The Blades played three international games during the trip, earning victories in two and showcasing their skills against strong competition. Between matches and training sessions, the team had opportunities to tour iconic landmarks, enjoy local cuisine, and immerse themselves in the vibrant Spanish culture
"The team represented Wyoming well and we got a variety fo training and matches. Bravo did a great job creating the agenda, and we also had breaks and freedom to tour. It was a great experience," said Coach Julie Maiers. The experience provided not only high-level soccer development but also meaningful team bonding and personal growth. The Casper Blades’ international success reflects their hard work and dedication, and the memories made in Spain will surely last a lifetime.
If your club team is interested in going on a tour with Bravo, please contact us! They suggest planning 12-18 months out, so it is time to start planning your trip for next year!

WYOMING SOCCER NEXTGEN COACH PROGRAM
Part of the Play It Forward USSF Innovate to Grow Grant
| |
As part of Wyoming Soccer Association’s Play It Forward Grant (an Innovate to Grow grant received by Wyoming Soccer Association in 2024 from the U.S. Soccer Federation), Wyoming Soccer has created a program to ignite a passion for coaching in our current youth and young adult coaches.
We are offering FREE incentives (all is funded by Wyoming Soccer Association) to coaching, such as educational resources through US Youth Soccer University‘s and Wyoming Soccer Association’s partners, etrainu & MOJO, a coach kit (inclusive of a jacket, duffel bag, t-shirt, clip board, notepad, pen, pin and coach badge) and additional incentives for achieving milestones of the program. U.S. Soccer says that “education is a journey” and Wyoming Soccer wants to start developing our coaches earlier, getting them on a structured path to education with no barriers to start their journey.
This program can also be utilized as an internship for college students.
If your club would like to start a NextGen Coach Program (either with junior aged coaches within your club and/or through a local college internship program), we can brand the program for your club and start the process TODAY.
Please reach out to Lisa Hulshizer at wssa@wyomingsoccer.com or call us at (307) 742-2306 for more information.

MAY -HANNA CHEESBROUGH (CASPER SOCCER CLUB)
JUNE - REMMINGTON (REMMY) PLUMLEE (LANDER STRIKERS)
| | | |
For the month of May, Wyoming Soccer is proud to shine the spotlight on Hanna, a dedicated and spirited player on the 10U Casper Blades White team. At just nine years old, Hanna is already turning heads with her energy, enthusiasm, and love for the game.
Hanna is new to travel soccer, but you wouldn’t know it from the way she plays. She’s been trying out different positions this season and has already found two favorites—center midfield and defense—where she gets to combine her speed, height, and natural instincts for the game. Hanna has been playing soccer since she was five years old, starting in the Casper Soccer Club’s recreational league before joining the Blades this past spring.
While she hasn’t guest played or tried out for Wyoming’s 307 Select or ODP teams yet, she’s excited to gain more experience and take on those opportunities in the future. One of Hanna’s favorite parts of soccer has been building friendships and learning from her teammates. “She loves soccer and meeting new people,” her coaches say—something that shines through every time she steps on the field.
Off the pitch, Hanna is just as impressive. She’s a student in a Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program at school and has been learning Spanish for several years. She participates in Spanish Club, P.E. Club, and even writes for the Young Authors competition each year. Her hobbies are as adventurous as they are creative—she enjoys riding her bike, drawing, playing basketball, hiking, camping, rafting, and reading.
Hanna’s unique talents include making people laugh and helping others feel included—qualities that make her a fantastic teammate and friend. She’s also a fast runner, an excellent bike rider, and stands out as being tall for her age, giving her a strong presence on the field.
Some of Hanna’s favorite things include:
- Food: Hawaiian pizza
- Dessert: Mango mochi
- Book: Out of My Mind by Sharon M. Draper – a story she connects with deeply
- Movie: Harold and the Purple Crayon
- Musician: Taylor Swift
- Actress: Ariana Grande
- Soccer Player: Nico Calabria of the U.S. Amputee Soccer Team, whom she met at the Wyoming Soccer Association AGM this past March!
One of the most exciting events on Hanna’s horizon is her upcoming trip to Chicago in late July, where she’ll attend the United Adaptive Soccer Association’s Adaptive Soccer Camp. She’s thrilled to train, play, and connect with other amputee athletes who share her passion for soccer.
Hanna's determination, joy, and inclusivity make her a standout on and off the field. We are so proud to feature her as our Player Spotlight for May and can’t wait to see all she will accomplish in the seasons ahead!
| | | |
For our June Player Spotlight, we are proud to highlight Remmington Plumlee, affectionately known as Remmy, a dedicated and rising player from Lander Strikers.
Remmy currently plays on the Lander 10U Silver boys team, and began his soccer journey at just five years old in the club’s recreational league. Over the past year, he’s shown what commitment, adaptability, and perseverance can achieve. Coming into the fall season, Remmy was still learning the game and developing his skills. Over the last nine months, he’s grown tremendously. According to his coach, Nikki Dellinger,
“When our goalkeeper had a season-ending injury, Remmy stepped in without complaint. He has worked diligently on his skill, knowledge of the game, and became a fantastic and dependable defender! His growth in both soccer and emotional development was encouraging to watch, and as a coach, I’m very proud of his hard work, growth, and dedication.”
While Remmy hasn’t yet tried out for the Wyoming 307 Select or ODP teams, his progress and passion for the game suggest there’s plenty more to come. His usual positions are defense and goalkeeper—both roles where he’s proven to be dependable, fearless, and a real asset to the team.
Outside of soccer, Remmy is just as active and enthusiastic. At school, he participates in Lego and Tech Club, exploring his creativity and love for building and innovation. His hobbies include dirt biking, playing goalie in hockey, catching in baseball, and even golf—a versatile athlete in every sense! Remmy also has a few unique talents that keep his friends and teammates entertained—most notably his “eyebrow wiggle”—a trick he’s always excited to show off!
Some of his favorite things include:
- Foods: Tacos and pizza
- Books: Diary of a Wimpy Kid series
- Movies: Pacific Rim and The Sandlot
- Collections: Rocks and 3D printed toys
Remmy’s enthusiasm, positive attitude, and willingness to step up for his team make him a standout not just in games, but in every practice and interaction. His story is one of growth, grit, and genuine love for the sport.
We are proud to feature Remmington Plumlee as our June Spotlight Player, and we’re excited to see what’s next in his journey—on and off the field! Keep up the great work, Remmy!
