Mark Your Calendars: myPATH Upgrade Coming in December 2026 to Improve Customer Service

The upgrade of the myPATH system will involve a period of roughly four days in December when taxpayers will be unable to access their online accounts. As a result, the department is asking its customers to plan accordingly.

In December 2026, the Department of Revenue is scheduled to implement an upgrade to my Pennsylvania Tax Hub (myPATH), the department’s online system where PA taxpayers manage their state tax accounts. As part of the upgrade, taxpayers will see several improvements that will make navigation of the system more intuitive and user‑friendly.

The overall layout of myPATH will remain familiar with the following enhancements:

  • Clearer navigation
  • Progress bars to show where you are in a transaction
  • More accessible links and improved readability throughout the account center
  • Enhanced log-in security features

As part of this upgrade, myPATH will be temporarily unavailable from 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 10 through 6 a.m. on Monday, December 14.

DOR Launches Annual Tax Seminars

The Department of Revenue recently kicked off its annual Tax Seminar series, welcoming tax professionals from across Pennsylvania to the first sessions of the year in Cumberland and Lehigh counties. Alicia Gonse, Aly Winkelspecht, Jason Shughart, Jane McCurdy and Ryan Froman were a handful of Revenue employees who presented on behalf of the agency.

The seminars highlighted best practices for working with DOR and covered notable changes to state tax laws, policies, and procedures. Department tax experts covered key changes related to Personal Income Tax (PIT), Corporate Net Income Tax (CNIT), Sales and Use Tax (SUT), the Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit (WPTC), and the Property Tax/Rent Rebate (PTRR) program.

The seminars also featured speakers from the PA Department of Labor & Industry, who offered guidance on navigating the Unemployment Compensation Management System (UCMS) and answered questions about employer responsibilities and system functionality.

DOR’s Tax Seminars continue to offer participants the opportunity to earn continuing education credits while gaining direct access to department staff and tools designed to support their work. To find dates and locations for upcoming sessions, visit the Tax Seminars page on the Revenue website.

Reminder: Revenue Launches Plain-Language Guide to Tax Notices

This new page aims to provide a clear, plain-language guide to help taxpayers better follow what their notice means and what they need to do next. You can find information about various notices, instructions on how to resolve a notice, and resources available to taxpayers in need of accessibility accommodations.

Amy Gill Participates in IRS SOI Consultants Panel

Recently, Amy Gill, Deputy Secretary for Tax Policy, participated in the IRS Statistics of Income (SOI) Consultants panel.

The Revenue Act of 1916 mandated the annual publication of statistics related to “the operations of the internal revenue laws.” SOI fulfills this function by collecting and processing data so that they become informative and by sharing information about how the tax system works with other government agencies and the public. SOI’s primary clients are the Office of Tax Analysis (OTA) in the Secretary of the Treasury’s Office and the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT) — each of whom is entitled to receive detailed tax return files. Most other agencies and individuals can only access data in the aggregate to protect individual privacy as described in Section 6103 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The panel members were a mix of academia, think tanks, and other government agencies that provide valuable feedback to SOI on its various programs and practices. Presentations focused on shifts in the corporate filing population, the corporate alternative minimum tax, and using AI to create a framework for editing and imputation of tax data. It focused on the importance of timely, reliable data for policy makers’ use.
