Volume XX | Month Day 20XX

St. Germain lost a long-term faithful servant on May 14, 2020. Tom Martens had been elected for 25 consecutive two-year terms as Town Clerk. A sudden health issue led to his demise less than one year short of fulfilling the duties of Clerk for 50 consecutive years.

Funeral / memorial service arrangements are pending at this time.

Life-long St. Germain resident June Vogel was appointed by the Town Board on May 15, 2020 to fill the elected seat of Town Clerk which had become vacant due to the passing of Tom Martens the day before. Vogel will serve as Clerk through the balance of the two-year term to which Martens had been elected in April 2019. Vogel had served as Temporary Clerk since April 29 following the onset of Martens' illness.

The St. Germain Fire Fighters Association Board would like to announce that the 44 th Annual St. Germain Flea Market will kick-off on Monday, June 22, 2020. The order may be gone, but the virus is not! There are many unknowns out there and we need time to educate ourselves and implement new safety standards for our vendors and shoppers alike. A later start date will provide us time to put measures in place and put on the same great show you have come to expect from us.

We want to urge you to be smart and continue to practice the guidelines that have been shared over the last eight weeks. Maintain physical distance, use good personal hygiene, handwashing, etc. Do not come to the flea market if you are ill. Consider wearing an N95 mask when at the flea market. If you do not feel safe with the COVID-19 virus out there, then please do not come.

If you are interested in becoming a vendor, spaces are available by calling 715-891-7333, emailing: fleamarket@stgermainfire.com , going online to: stgermain.com/fleamarket or just show up between 5 am and 7 am on the Monday you wish to vend. The Flea Market will run every Monday, June 22nd thru Labor Day unless there are changes with COVID-19. Shopping times are from 8 am to 3 pm.
This message is brought to you by the St. Germain Town Board of Supervisors.
