ACEnet Tenant News
ACEnet has a new tenant in our Nelsonville facility! AedanWorks creates handcrafted custom furniture and wooden goods, one story at a time. Chris Hedges is the sole proprietor and designer/craftsman at AedanWorks. For him, working with wood is about more than shaping and joining pieces together to create a whole: It's about creating a tangible object that tells a story and, like all good stories, it's a collaborative effort. Whether your needs are functional or purely aesthetic, it is his goal to work with you to bring to fruition your ideas and help you tell the story of your life and, ultimately, the story of us.
After receiving a M.A from Ohio University, Chris spent two years at the University of Rio Grande's Fine Woodworking program studying everything from basic cabinet making to period furniture, finishing, and carving. During his education, he learned a deep appreciation for hand work and attention to detail. As a testament to his acquired knowledge, during his second year he won top awards at the 2007 Fresh Wood student design competition for the Philadelphia secretary listed in his gallery.
For the past 7 years Chris has worked diligently to complete as many custom orders as possible and have expanded AedanWorks from a single room in his basement to a fully functional one man furniture studio focusing on hand crafted furniture that honors the skills of traditional craftsman. We're very excited to have Chris in our ACEnet family and can't wait to see what he creates next!
