Volunteers are wanted to help on Saturday, June 25 at our Classic Collectors Car Show in downtown Barrington. Assistance is needed with directing cars to their parking spots, handing out materials, and collecting votes for the car show awards. The show is a FREE community event in support of small business and runs from 12:00-4:00 pm. The public is invited to view classic cars, listen to music from Hot Tracks DJs, and enjoy outdoor food and refreshments for purchase from local vendors. Cars must be accepted in advance, no day-of registration. Each year the BACC Women's Biz Net honors four local women as Outstanding Women Leaders (OWLs) at an awards luncheon in September. The award was created to recognize women for their inspiring work in one of four categories: Community Impact – giving back and making an impact on the Barrington Area community; Mentorship and Education – mentoring and improving the lives of others through education; Nonprofit Leadership – working to provide important resources to the community and excelling an important cause; and Professional Excellence – excelling in their profession and setting the standard in their field.

The U.S. Small Business Administration offers assistance for women entrepreneurs in helping them to launch new businesses and compete in the marketplace. For information on training, funding opportunities, and other resources specifically for women CLICK HERE.

Illinois Secure Choice is a state-facilitated savings retirement program that was launched in 2018. As of 2022, every Illinois employer with five or more employees is required to offer their own retirement program or facilitate Secure Choice. Program deadlines are based on employer size, and employers who do not meet their required deadlines may be subject to enforcement, including financial penalties. COVID-19 vaccine appointments for anyone five years and older are now being accepted at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital, 450 W. Hwy. 22 in Barrington. Booster shots are also available to anyone 12 years and older who received both doses of the Pfizer, Moderna, or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. A second booster shot is available for people 50 and older and immunocompromised people 12 and older four months after their first booster shot. Those seeking appointments do not need to be patients of the hospital.
