As the summer vacation season starts to wind down, we're looking forward to arguably the best time of the year to visit the Capital Region.

With fall comes our 2nd annual Global Travel Exchange in Annapolis. We're excited to welcome more than 30 European tour operators and US receptive tour operators to America's Sailing Capital and have them experience some of the best of the region.

We're also wrapping up sales of the 2024 Holiday Guide. Still one of our primary marketing pieces, the Guide is available in three languages and distributed through our overseas offices.

Interested in learning more about our membership programs, sales and media missions, or just the CRUSA basics? Don't hesitate to reach out, or join us at our Global Marketing Update on Sept. 18 in Annapolis.

See you there!

Research Update
2022 Visitation, Recovery, and the 2023 Forecast
The world is so ready to “get back to normal and or embrace the new normal” that in many ways it is very easy to not fully recognize that 2022 visitation was only the start of travel resumption and is very much not a normal travel year, and not yet a new normal for international travel to the U.S.

The CDC’s Amended Order Implementing Presidential Proclamation on Safe Resumption of Global Travel During the COVID-19 Pandemic ceased to be in effect as of 12:01 a.m. EDT on May 12, 2023. It was not until May 12, 2023, that noncitizen non-immigrant air passengers no longer need to show proof of being fully vaccinated with an accepted COVID-19 vaccine to board a flight to the United States.
As of June 2023, two thirds (64%) of the world completed initial vaccination protocols.
US Visitation (January-June 2023)

The top overseas visitor market to the U.S. through the first half of 2023 is the United Kingdom (1.72 million), followed by India (816,000), and Germany (786,000).
