Please join us in celebrating Mike as our Sharon's Attic Volunteer of the Month! For Mike, volunteering is all about the people. After retiring, he knew he wanted to stay connected—both relationally and within his community. The phrase “Think globally, act locally” has always resonated with him, and he strives to live by it.

From Sharon’s Attic to his other volunteer roles in Flagstaff, Mike wears an eclectic array of hats, each one allowing him to make a meaningful local impact. But what keeps him truly motivated? The people. Whether it’s meeting those directly impacted by his efforts or working alongside fellow volunteers he’s built relationships with, the connections he makes bring purpose to his work.

Team Building Time

This week, our team took some much-needed self-care time and hit the bowling lanes together! It was a great way to lift our spirits, bond as a team, and have some fun. We are grateful for our amazing team here at Housing Solutions and appreciate the impact they have - every day - on the lives of our clients.

Every purchase empowers survivors at our Sharon Manor program and promotes sustainability by reducing waste and giving quality goods a second life.

Flagstaff Rental Attainability

Our 2024 Flagstaff Rental Attainability Report is now available on our website. This annual survey captures crucial insights about rental attainability in Flagstaff. This year, we surveyed 56 market-rate apartment complexes (10,381 units) and 10 income-restricted complexes (724 units) between 9/20/24 and 11/05/24.

Community Loan Center of Arizona

79 individuals received affordable small-dollar loans through our Community Loan Center, promoting stability and helping them avoid predatory lenders.

First Time Homebuyers

One household was able to become a first time homebuyer in January thanks to support from homebuyer counseling services offered through our pre-purchase program. They were able to purchase afterwards through the Flagstaff Affordable Homeownership Program.

Affordable Rentals

24 low-income households were able to stay affordably and stably housed in our rental homes and condos across Flagstaff.

Vouchers for Essentials

2 households from our Sharon Manor transitional housing program received Sharon’s Attic vouchers, helping them shop for essential clothing, home goods, and furniture as they rebuild their lives. Your donations to our thrift store of gently used items make a real difference for households transitioning from homelessness—thank you for your support!
