April 5, 2021
Riverbend celebrated the greatest sequence of events in all of history—the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus—with three worship services throughout the Easter weekend. The sunrise service (above) drew 235 folks. More than 350 attended the chilly, breezy outdoor Good Friday service on the front lawn. The weekend culminated with nearly 700 on campus for the traditional Easter service (Worship Center, plus two overflow rooms & nursery), with the children's choir (below) launching the Christ-centered celebration. Praise the Lord for a great Easter weekend at Riverbend!

Hope Place
&
Marchman Center

From Bill Wilder

Two great outreach opportunities have been re-opened to Riverbend. They are at Hope Place and the Stuart Marchman Center.

My wife Carol and I have for several years been leading Bible studies in these two facilities, but we were shut down about a year ago due to Covid. Now, we are, due to health reasons, unable to continue. But are praying that some fellow Riverbenders will become involved and reach out to people who are in crisis situations in their lives. In recent years, these Bible studies have been the only Christian witness in these two locations.

Hope Place, primarily for homeless women and their children, is run by Halifax Urban Ministries. The study, usually involving four women, is at 6:45 on Monday evenings at the facility located on Wright Street, near Derbyshire and LPGA. A woman leader is preferred and a second woman helpful. People are typically there about three months.

Marchman Center, off Highway 92 on Red John Drive (about four miles west of I-95), houses people who are in detox or have been Baker-acted. Bible studies here need to be evangelistic, as the people are usually there only a few weeks. Our studies with 6-8 men and women each time were at 2:30 and 3:30 on Tuesday afternoons. A husband-wife team would be great for this one.

If you are interested in leading one of these studies or just want more information, please contact us: 440-666-7089 or 440-781-1908 ... We will be glad to take you the facilities and help you get started.
The Friday performance is "SOLD OUT"! ... Tickets for both Saturday performances now available in the Academy office
DATE CHANGE

Thursday, April 22

This event was moved to April 22—two weeks later than originally scheduled—to insure that the blueberries will be ripe.

Senior adults and guests will be heading to Artisan Acres off Highway 44 near Eustis. Maps will be available. Six acres of blueberries will be available. Cost is $4.50 per pound.
