From Gina Menez, VBS Leadership Team

We will be having our first Vacation Bible School informational meeting on Sunday, Feb. 23, in Fellowship Hall, following Morning Worship.

Come and see all the ministry opportunities available as we present this great outreach to our community during July 13-17.

Lunch is provided.
Warmest Christian Greetings from The Philippines!

Thanking you for all five boxes of "goodies", gifts for our school Children, with t-shirts, slacks, three sets of wireless microphones, etc., and, oh, the many Christmas cards we received almost the same time. Such love and concern for the ministry here on the Island of Mindanao. We are blessed by God through you all, and greatly encouraged by your love and service to the Lord! Thanking you all very, very much.

The school teachers and their students will be sending their expression of gratitude later. The other items for the missionaries will wait until the Family Camp in April and the Pastors Conference in August. The books will be sent to five Bible School libraries we have in the islands. Such a blessing to have them.

After months of no rain, now we have it coming down heavily almost every day. The governments have given the orange rainfall warnings, potential landslides and floodings. The panic concerning the coronavirus doesn't affect our people in the islands as compared to those in metro Manila.

It's been exciting going around and teaching with my wife from the first day of the year. This week we are in Manila to teach pastors in two areas for ten days. They are excitedly praying for our coming. Looking forward to what God will do in and through us. Your prayers and support abundantly answered by God. Let us all be found fairhful to the very end.

Riverbend's eight Elders unanimously recommend that these two men be affirmed as Elders of the church:

<<< Gary Giovanni

Paul Grenelle >>>
The first step of the congregation is to be present for the Elders Candidates Discussion on Sunday, March 1, at 6 p.m. in the Youth Center. You can learn what the candidates believe and practice and see them defend Scripture.

After the discussion, the church will provide a month—ending April 1 (Wednesday)—for the members to talk with the candidates personally and express back to the current elders their support (or disapproval) of the candidates. If the new candidates are approved, a date will be set for the ordination (laying on of hands) of the candidates, after which they will begin to function with the eight current elders:
Bobby Caliendo, Rick Cobb, Brian Giaquinto, John Griffin, Jason Karr, Scott Menez, Jerry Schaeffer, Brian Shealy.
The bride & groom are registered at Bed Bath & Beyond and Target. For more wedding information or the ceremony's livestream link, click www.theknot.com/jonanddeb2020 .
An Auditor's Note

Pastor Scott:

I am grateful I was able to audit the "Christology" class at Christ Theological Seminary. It was so enlightening and the teaching so informative. So much of what was taught I had not considered before. I enjoyed the opportunity to study at a pace that allowed me to ponder what you were teaching. So many of the texts lead you to worship.

It was great, too, to read other theologians and their input into learning how Christ is revealed in the Word. The reading was a challenge, and a delight. I gleaned a new appreciation for the Book of Leviticus and God's work through the Old Testament. The big picture that you painted of how "God made a way to dwell with His people," even though they were very sinful, was eye-opening and compels me to dig deeper.

Thank you for teaching on the Cup and the price Jesus paid. Now I can better understand and participate in your excitement about Christ.
For His Glory!
