Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey Names New Director of Phase I/Investigational Therapeutics Program
Sanjay Goel, MD, MS has been named as director of the Phase I/Investigational Therapeutics Program at Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. In his new role, Dr. Goel will lead a multidisciplinary scientific group charged with developing new methods for the treatment of cancer in collaboration with colleagues across RWJBarnabas Health. He is also a professor of medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Goel joins us from from Montefiore Einstein Center for Cancer Care and Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Critical Need for Blood in New Jersey: Donate on February 8th
The chronic and unprecedented national blood shortage is now classified as an emergency. Donating blood is essential to help save the lives of patients who are depending on the availability of blood, including cancer patients. All blood types are needed, however, there is an emergency shortage of blood types O and B. On Tuesday, February 8, the RWJ Blood Services team will be at Rutgers Cancer Institute for a collection drive. You can play a direct role in helping patients receive treatment by donating blood.

Reducing Disparities in Cancer Prevention
One of the primary modes of cancer prevention and early detection in the United States is screening. However, not all individuals have access to cancer screenings or cancer education, which creates significant disparities. Shawna V.
