Research to be Highlighted at the American Society of Hematology Annual Meeting

Experts from Rutgers Cancer Institute and RWJBarnabas Health will present numerous hematology/oncology research findings at the 65th American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting and Exposition being held this week. This includes data from clinical trials evaluating progression-free survival of early and advanced stage Hodgkin lymphoma, development and validation of the modern-day model, Advanced-Stage Hodgkin Lymphoma International Prognostic Index (E-HIPI), as well as other key findings.  Hockey Fights Cancer Night Honors Cancer Survivors and Clinicians 

The New Jersey Devils hosted their annual Hockey Fights Cancer Night in partnership with RWJBarnabas Health last month. During the game, the team honored 13-year-old Charlie Shomers, who completed treatment for an aggressive form of brain cancer at The Bristol-Myers Squibb Children's Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Rutgers Cancer Institute. Highlights of his game day-experience included an official Devils jersey and locker stall, a meet and greet with his favorite Devils player, and participation in a ceremonial puck drop. Rahul R. Parikh, MD, MBA, medical director of the Laurie Proton Therapy Center at RWJUH and Rutgers Cancer Institute was also honored as the Hero of the Game. Learn more.
