THO Non-Resident Fellowship Turkey Trip
The Turkish Heritage Organization is excited to bring our Non-Resident Fellowship program to Turkey in a few weeks, as our fellows learn more about U.S.-Turkey relations and dynamics while meeting with various NGO's, businesses and organizations while in Ankara and Instabul.
THO OUTREACH
THO outreach continued as the THO team connected with Professor Rumeyza Kazancioglu, President of Bezmialem Vakif University, Mustafa Aydin, Chairman of Istanbul Aydin University, and Professor Cagri Erhan, President of Altinbas University who visited the THO offices separately. THO will be partnering with universities on specific projects with more details coming soon!
THO Partnership Manager Pinar Gezgec attended a panel discussion hosted by the Daniel Morgan Graduate School and Dr. Edward Lemon on Globalized Authoritarianism: How Dictators are Weaponizing International Organizations.
THO Communications Manager Savannah Lane met with a representative from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). OECD is an intergovernmental economic organization founded to stimulate economic progress and world trade (and both the United States and Turkey are members).

U.S., TURKEY, NATO AND A CHANGING WORLD
On Wednesday, May 29, 2019, the Turkish Heritage Organization hosted a panel discussion at the National Press Club. The panel featured esteemed guests General (ret.) Wesley Clark (Former NATO Supreme Allied Commander) Professor Cagri Erhan (President of Altinbas University) and was moderated by Dr. Geoffrey Gresh (the Head of the International Security Studies department at National Defense University).

Feryal Ozel
Feryal Özel is a Turkish-American astrophysicist . Özel received her PhD at Harvard University and was a Hubble Fellow and member at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. Özel is widely recognized for her contributions to the field of neutron stars, black holes, and magnetars. She is a collaborator of Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) that released the first image of a black hole.
