THO-SUPPORTED EVENT AT GWU ADDRESSED EDUCATION FOR DISPLACED SYRIANS
On November 16, the No Lost Generation chapter at George Washington University hosted a panel titled “ Education for Displaced Syrians: Innovative Solutions to a Complex Challenge .” The panel discussion was supported by THO.

The panel featured insights from Syrian activists and representatives from the Institute of International Education, Karam Foundation, and Syrian Youth Empowerment.

THO’s latest factsheet by Audrey Williams (Program Officer) takes a look at the state of access to education for Syrians in Turkey.
THO president attends International Day program organized by Congressman Donald Payne Jr. and Rutgers University
On Nov. 18, THO President Ali Cinar participated in an International Day celebration at Rutgers University. There were over 25 countries represented at the International Day program, including Turkey. Congressman Payne thanked Cinar for his participation and support.

Congressman Payne also said: “We have repeatedly seen people of all cultures, religions, nationalities, and circumstances joined together to pursue justice during the darkest of times. International Day is a beautiful reminder that the United States is a remarkably diverse nation – and that diversity gives us strength. I am happy for the opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity of the Tenth Congressional District.”
THO participates in No Lost Generation Winter Gala at American University
On Nov. 18, THO participated in No Lost Generation at American University's Winter Gala, where Program Officer Caysie Myers spoke with students and attendees about THO's humanitarian aid and refugee-focused programs and publications.

THO also donated selections from Turkish-American photographer Sinem Oguz's photo exhibit, "On the Border: Syrian Women and Children", to No Lost Generation at American University. The photos were exhibited at the gala.
