Winter Life Groups Now Forming
As the new year launches it's time for another round of Life Groups.

What are Life Groups?  Ask seasoned disciples what helped form their life with Christ, and almost always you'll hear about a small group of some sort.  Life Groups are our plan for such small groups.  There's something about a small circle of Christian friends that really boosts our growth in Christ.

Jesus thought so.  He interacted with great multitudes, but he really "did life" with a dozen.  And when we do life with a dozen or so we can count on Jesus adding his life to our group!  In fact, that's why we use "Life Groups" as the name for our small groups.  There's a group here at St. Giles for you to do life with!

We're launching a new round of Life Groups now.  They'll run through January and February, with another round beginning with Lent.

Here are the leaders and times available for you to sign up:
  •       Matt & Lindsay Sherrard: Sundays, 5:30 PM, 907 Ashbrook Landing
  •       Keith and Sarah Hill:  Sundays, 7 PM 4604 Grove Ave.
  •       Heather Agnello & Alycia Greene: Thursdays, 10 AM at the church
  •       LynneChambers:  Thursdays 7 PM, 1211 Santa Anna Rd
  •       Dick Parkinson:  Fridays, 6:30 PM, Hathaway Tower
Sign up sheets are available after worship, or you can mark your desire on the Connection Card.

God's Ancient Modern Word For You:
The Prophet Isaiah Speaks
Wednesdays Starting January 9

What could an ancient (2700 years old!) prophecy possibly have to do with modern day you? Come and see, as we hear what God spoke then and speaks now through the prophet Isaiah. We'll gather on Wednesdays, January 9 to April 10.

Come for dinner if you'd like at 5:45 PM, and Keith will lead our class, from 6:30 to 7:30. The Lord has something to say, and we'll listen  together!

Wednesday Night Dinners -- It's Different Now!!

Call the office by Tuesday should you need to cancel your reservation or standing reservation, as we are required to pay for all meals ordered. Prices are $7 adult, $3 children.

There is no salad meal option available. January Menu here.

HEART SONG  Friday Nights Starting January 11 -- 7 PM

Here's what happens at Heart Song:

When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation.  Let all things be done for building up.

So, Paul guided the Corinthians long ago, but somehow the Spirit makes our worship fresh every time we gather.  The Spirit ignites our ardor, and along the way we discover that he also brings just the right order - and all to the glory of Jesus.

We're lifting up our Heart Song each Friday evening in the Patterson Auditorium, from 7-8:30 PM.  Come and join in this service of spontaneous praise.

(Note - As we get Heart Song up and going, we're "traveling light."  We'll add a nursery as we go, as we see the need.)

A Note from Margaret Bell Herrin
The family of Billy R. Herrin wishes to thank the congregation of St. Giles for the many kindnesses expressed in love for Billy and his family over the course of his illness and struggles with COPD. We are deeply appreciative of you as a congregation and individually for your acts of love in making his faith journey more meaningful and enriched. Your prayers, cards, visits, phone calls, "junk food", and listening to his stories meant a lot to him and to me. Thank you.
