Incorporating Strategy in Your Life
Strategy Defined
It is helpful to first give some context to where strategy fits in:
· Vision/dream – Represents your ultimate destination. It is the result of the amalgamation of all of your efforts. For example, A happy and impactful marriage; Financial Independence; An exit strategy for your business to create sufficient wealth; Health in your body and life relative to your age…etc. You have to design in present terms what your future vision details.
· Strategy – Is a specific process you engage in to mitigate a limitation, scale an obstacle, improve a situation, bolster results, maximize a relationship, and more. All of this has at its zenith a goal to be accomplished. Strategy further:
§ Depicts a process, not just an event. Because everything in life is dynamic - strategy is a living, breathing, process that must be adapted in real time, requiring maximum engagement.
§ Engagement in strategy provides answers that cannot otherwise be discovered while sitting on the sidelines in heavy contemplation.
§ Strategy can and must be adapted, without having to alter your vision or dream. Because things almost never turn out exactly as you plan, the strategy process has flexibility built into its framework to facilitate the multiple dynamics in the process of accomplishment.
· Tactics – Are the smaller steps taken in the strategic process. For example, assessing your present position is one of the tactics we use in the strategic process. You can actually do a lot of small things, but if they are not coordinated, you will probably not get the results you are looking for. Strategy organizes your activities so that they can help you accomplish your goals.
I am going to keep this process as simple as possible, because if you will learn and master it, you will no longer sit on the sidelines of your life wondering where you went wrong, and why things are falling apart. Strategy gives you the power to do something meaningful regarding relationships, marriage, family, business, wealth, health, and everything else that is sacred in your life. Stay tuned!!!
Have a great week!!!
