The Laws of Life: The Law of Capacity
A few weeks ago, I read on a Business Facebook Page that a manager in a restaurant which I frequent had passed away. She was a friendly person, smiled all the time and appeared to be in good health. The next time I was in for lunch I inquired about her, and my server informed me that she had lost her son in an accident a couple of weeks ago. She had lost another son a couple of years previously. He said she couldn’t handle it…so she ended her own life. (She was approximately mid 50’s to early 60’s and these were adult children.) She had reached her emotional, mental, and psychological capacity. Consider this law:
The Law of Capacity
The Law of Capacity is not finite and exists to remind us that a boundary or limit is an opportunity for expansion. In fact, the idea of capacity exists more in our minds as opposed to our circumstances. Let me summarize the Law of Capacity this way: Capacity = Opportunity.
· First, nothing in your life is fixed: not your money, your business, your opportunities, your abilities, or your chance to have a positive impact on our society. Wherever you feel that you are at the place where you can’t handle any more it is a sign that it’s time to expand.
· The law of capacity is a subtle reminder that all things are possible. Your life should be spent tethering to your dreams instead of your limitations. This is the reason that a dream, vision, goal, or intention usually exists outside of the realm of your current reality.
· Someone said that because you are going to think anyway – you might as well think big! To live a fulfilled life there must be an ongoing renovation of your mind. Limitations, ceilings, fences, and even prison cells must be demolished in our heads before we can scale them in our lives. This is how automobiles were created, airplanes flew, electricity was harnessed, and the modern world came to see the light of day…someone had to see what wasn’t done!
This is also true with struggle and our capacity to carry the necessary burdens in life. It doesn’t have to end where you are…if you can see past the storm clouds…you will realize that the sun never stops shining! You were designed for growth, expansion, increase, and productivity. Live to the fullest, your only nemesis is you!!!
