The Laws of Life: The Law of Faith
Several years ago, coming back from a business trip north of Atlanta, Ga. I headed south on I-85. I happened upon a terrible accident where one of the cars flipped several times, ripping the top off the car. I could see the driver shaking violently uncontrollably (obviously convulsing) and this happened in seconds as I passed through in major traffic. I could see lights flashing of emergency vehicles behind me as confused drivers attempted to pull off to the side of the road while attempting to avoid further collisions. As many years as I have been driving with no accidents in the last 40 years, I was shaken to the core during my 7-hour drive home, that on any day, during any time on the road…that could be me, or anyone else. Despite this, you, I, and millions of others continue to drive every day. Welcome to The Law of Faith:
The Law of Faith
Faith is not a desperate grab to hold on to what we are afraid of, cannot see, and cannot understand. Faith is an intuitive connection to what is authentic in our hearts based on our learning, life’s experiences, and what has been tested and proven to be reliable for a lifetime. Furthermore, authentic faith will be in alignment with truth (See The Law of Truth from last week).
· Authentic faith is personal and is developed over our lifetime. It will carry us through the ups and downs of life with the assurance that regardless of outcomes things will work out as they should, and we will be ok. This is because our faith has a basis which brings with it a phenomenal peace of mind.
· Because there is a trust component…Who awakened you this morning and the last 10,000 mornings? Who has controlled all the involuntary aspects of your life and kept them functioning such as your beating heart, breathing, and atoms remaining in the structure of your cells? Who has kept the universe in alignment beyond most of our understanding with the sun and moon faithfully discharging energy without which we would perish? Our luck couldn’t possibly be that good - as for me it’s been the hand of Almighty God, and I am surer of this than anything else in this world…with the utmost gratitude!
· The risks and dangers of living in our world appear to be growing exponentially. In order to live a successful and purposeful life you have to get in sync with your design and internal wiring. No one can pontificate to you what this means…you have to discover it for yourself. Happiness, fulfillment, and authentic success is indelibly tied to your growing, vibrant, and solid faith.
