The Laws of Life: The Law of Habit
Several years ago, I worked out in the gym a minimum of 5 and often 6 days a week. That gave me a chance to work my muscle groups twice a week and to also get several hours of cardio as well. I remember many weeks on the 6th day I would think I’m tired, or I need a break…I’m not going today. However, I would find myself in my car and on my way to the gym! It became more challenging to not go to the gym than to go…and this was because of the power of the Law of Habit! You may be wondering several years ago? What happened? I don’t want to talk about it! Lol! (I’m going to get back…)
For most of us 95% of our lives exist within the world of our habits. Doing things the same way; driving the same route; Doing the same work; making the same amount of money; talking to the same people; having the same conversations; etc. Living this way makes our lives are predictable and guarantees there will be no major life changes. Consider this powerful Law:
The Law of Habit
Our repetitive thoughts, words, and actions become cemented into habits that begin to control us…thus shaping our lifestyle. There are patterns formed in our minds and brains created by our habits and locks us into the direction we are headed…determining our destiny.
· One should periodically step back and observe…what are my habits and where will they take my life? Your habits will paint a very clear picture if you observe with a clear and unbiased mind. It is your habits that determine your diet, income, health, relationships, and so much more.
· It is difficult to break old habits, but with focus, determination, and time it can be done. You must determine which of your habits are productive, and which ones are not. Then, one at a time you must go through the habit transformation process. This can be very difficult because your habits have created a power that flows through your life!
· The key to the habit transformation process is to replace the determined unproductive habit with a new productive one. It begins with an opposite thought, opposite words, and opposite actions. As you persevere with this replacement strategy, The power of the old habit weakens and is transferred to the now one. Once completely formed the old habit becomes difficult, and the new one will become easy.
Accumulating wealth, having healthier relationships, achieving goals, improving health, and more all fall under the regulation of the formed habits in your life. A transformed life can only be achieved through transformed habits! I would love to hear your thoughts at www.rogerckellygroup.com/blog. Here you may also subscribe to the weekly leadership report.
Grace and Peace to You and Yours,
