The Laws of Life: The Law of Momentum
When you are entering the freeway in your automobile, it requires a significant amount of gas, or energy to build up speed and to get to the level of travelling motion you desire. Once you reach your speed you can go to cruise control and the trip becomes easier at that point. Even though you are traveling faster, it requires less energy, and your car is shifted into its most efficient gear, and the drive is easier. This is because of the law of momentum. Imagine a 3-hour trip if you had to come to a complete stop every 5 minutes and were required to build up to speed again…it would be a horrible, inefficient trip! So, it is with Life! Consider this:
The Law of Momentum
Whatever activities are set in motion in your life and maintained create momentum and operates with less effort because of efficiency. Momentum fuels our habits, thus sealing the direction and fate of our lives. When we are aware of momentum, we can use it strategically to live the life that we desire.
· It’s always more difficult getting something novel or different started in our lives. Our desires, thoughts, words, and actions must be aligned, backed by a commitment to complete what we’ve started. This is true of everything we want set in motion: relationships, business, finances, goals, etc.
· Once we are in motion, focus to remain on course is required. Just like a ship, plane, or rocket we must make navigational adjustments through obstacles and distractions in order to arrive at the planned destination. Momentum facilitates the flow of energy in and out of our lives.
· Now take the principle of this law and multiply it by the numerous activities fueled by the activities that have produced the habits in our lives. Are you being carried by the momentum that you have created towards your goals are away from them? If you are constantly fighting momentum that carries you away from where you want to go…you feel tired, drained, and devoid of energy. If you are being carried towards your goals, you are vibrant and ready to take on more.
You must remain behind the instrument panel of your life, making the changes and adjustments required to stay on course regarding your life’s destination! I would love to hear your thoughts at www.rogerckellygroup.com/blog. You may also subscribe here complimentary to The Weekly Leadership Report.
