The Laws of Life: The Law of The Spark
On October 8th, 1871, it is believed that a spark used to light a lantern in a barn at about 8:30 pm in Chicago, IL., caused the barn to go up in flames. Due to dry conditions, errors in emergency services, the use of wood for construction in city buildings, sidewalks, and homes…by October 10th approximately 300 people died, 3.3 miles of the city was destroyed including 17,000 structures, plus more than 100,000 residents were left homeless (Wikipedia - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Chicago_Fire). This is the history of The Great Chicago Fire! Welcome to The Law of The Spark:
The Law of The Spark
A spark is a tiny, ignited, or fiery particle created by friction (noun). As a (verb) a spark references the process of kindling, animating, or stimulating interest or activity of some kind. The Law of the Spark says that an interest or idea ignited with passion will spread exponentially when conditions are conducive for multiplication. We all have the potential to create a spark that can produce a massive fire (positive or negative).
· Each of us has the potential to ignite an idea, passion, or intention that can grow without boundaries; a potential which accommodates the gift of being alive. This does not have to be random, although we can carelessly ignite something in our families and communities that can be more deadly than the Great Chicago Fire. We can intentionally ignite something positive, powerful, and valuable which can transform masses in powerful ways.
· It is critical that you process, ruminate on, and create avenues to communicate those things that have become driving forces in your life. Writing out your dreams, desires, and passion will bring clarity into your own understanding first. Next, you can work on communicating with others your passion, as well as why you believe it could be so impactful. This becomes the early stage in harnessing and executing the Law of the Spark.
· Ask yourself “What are the greatest needs in my life?” What are the greatest needs in my family? My community? The nation and the world at large? Does this intersect or flow in alignment with what I am passionate about? Do I know a few or even a group of people that share the same passion? Who could benefit from what I am passionate about? My friends, these become the conditions for transforming a spark to a flame, and ultimately to a fire!
Just as fire directed and controlled can provide energy, heat, light, and more; and doesn’t have to be destructive; so, can the fire that lives inside of you by way of passion, dreams, and desire. What is dormant inside of you that could help the rest of us? Our society must be transformed in a healthy way at the grass roots level, as opposed to Hollywood and the news media! Take some time to look inward; beneath your worries and fears could be powerful solutions!
Make it a great week!
