Time: 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Registration:

Join the Newport Tree Conservancy for a Guided Tour of the Historic Harbor House Arboretum! Experience the stunning views of Narragansett Bay and the Pell Bridge while exploring the grounds of this historic property, home to an array of remarkable specimen trees. Among them are an impressive horse chestnut tree, a towering London Plane tree, and the summer-flowering Japanese Scholar Tree. During this Arboretum Public Day event, we will tour the grounds, discuss notable plants, and conclude with a pruning demonstration of two Stewartia trees. Stewartia, one of the most beautiful ornamental flowering trees in northeastern gardens, is often left unpruned, which can diminish its aesthetic appeal. Please dress appropriately for the weather and walking. We highly encourage bringing drinking water.
