My League Story, Employment Services, Barbara B.

Barbara, 47 years young, has been embracing every opportunity that comes her way since joining The League a few months ago. With her warm personality and adventurous spirit, she’s actively involved in both the Community Development Services and Employment Services programs, filling her days with exciting activities and new experiences.

Under the guidance of Ms. Vickey, Manager of Community Development Services & Virtual Learning, Barbara has enjoyed taking classes at CCBC, attending theater performances, and participating in activities like bowling, Moveable Feast, and Meals on Wheels. Whether she’s volunteering, spending time with friends, or learning something new, Barbara brings enthusiasm to everything she does.

Barbara’s heart is set on getting back into the workforce, and with the help of her Employment Specialist, Kristyn, she’s working hard to make that dream a reality. While she would love to work in any role that lets her help others, her true passion lies in retail. She has shared that she always loved working retail jobs in the past because they gave her the chance to connect with customers and express her love for fashion. She exclaims that she’s excited about the possibility of rejoining the workforce soon and would love to one day become a fashion designer.

Barbara’s passion for fashion is reflected in everything she does. She enjoys getting her nails done, keeping up with the latest trends, and looking her best for every occasion. Whether it’s a community outing or a casual hangout, Barbara always shines with confidence and style.

In addition to her love for fashion, Barbara is known for her kindness and generosity. She is always willing to lend a helping hand and finds joy in being there for others, whether it’s through volunteering or simply offering a friendly smile.

“You are not your disability!”

She exclaims that the friends she’s made through The League make every day special. With her compassionate heart, creative spirit, and the support of her new community, Barbara is excited to continue building friendships and pursuing her dreams—one fashionable step at a time.

The League is proud to walk alongside Barbara on her journey as she explores new opportunities, strengthens her connections, and works toward her goals with passion and purpose.

A Concluding Note from Our President & CEO

Dear Goblins & Ghouls,

I hope that you are enjoying a BOO-tiful October so far! Participants, employees, and volunteers are working hard to achieve their professional goals and playing hard as they prioritize fun together on our Cold Spring Lane Campus, at our Towson location, and in the surrounding communities. As we enjoy the last remnants of warm weather, I cannot believe that Halloween is right around the corner!

Spookily enough, October's CLUB1111 on Saturday, 10/12, was a sellout, and it was amazing to see all of our guests doing the Monster Mash in their costumes!

Each of the meaningful connections and opportunities for growth in our programs are made possible by incredible individuals like you. As we kick off our League Fund Year-End Campaign, I hope you will consider contributing to the independence, self-sufficiency, and quality of life that our participants deserve! Thank you and Happy Spooky Season!

Sincerely,

David A. Greenberg

President & CEO
