Annual Autumn Run Dinner Honours Senator David Adams Richards
The Miramichi Salmon Association, The Atlantic Salmon Federation and the New Brunswick Salmon Council co-hosted the 17th Annual Autumn Run Dinner at the Delta in Saint John on October 17 th . The dinner was a great success and featured guest speaker Senator David Adams Richards, who delivered a poignant, yet humourist speech on the state of Atlantic Salmon in New Brunswick. The silent and live auctions were a great success with many people commenting on the high quality of the items donated. The live auction alone generated over $40000 and featured a number of exceptional fishing trips, works of art, and tickets to sporting events. The MSA, ASF and NB Salmon Council would like to thanks all the donors, attendees and volunteers who made this fundraising dinner a great success! See you next year!
MSA Launches 'Friends of Cold-Water' Campaign
Our changing climate is warming our rivers, creating an urgent need to do all we can to help sustain the fresh water phase of the Miramichi salmon’s life. The MSA is leading the way on this front, having now restored and/or enhanced a total of 9 different cold-water habitat refuges in just the past 5 years, including a project this past September’18 at Burnt Land Brook in Boiestown, NB.
To help generate the necessary funding for its ongoing cold-water refuge program, the MSA has launched its annual ‘ Friends of ‘Cold-Water’ campaign. By supporting this year’s campaign, you’ll be helping to ensure the MSA is able to continue the cold-water habitat conservation work that is so essential to the long-term sustainability of wild Atlantic salmon within the Miramichi River system.
