Here's What's Been Happening at PHP! | |
|
While prospect activity has been great, a bigger story for me is that five Members have chosen to buy other homes within the Peachtree Hills Place community. That was not something I had anticipated! It is wonderful see Members decide for all kinds of reasons to purchase another home here. The fact that they make the decision to upsize or downsize and remain in the community says a lot about Peachtree Hills Place, and the people who live here.
Nine of eleven homes came on the market in 2023. Four of eleven will close in March. I would like to introduce you to two of the new Members.

Jean & Ron Richter
After 57 years of marriage, Jean and Ron Richter indicated that they finally felt like they were over 55 and therefore, they will join PHP in March of this year. They said that activity is their desire and therefore, they will be travelling while splitting their time between maintaining a home in Salem, South Carolina to allow then to continue sailing on Keowee Lake and Atlanta where the Richter’s indicated that “they have two magnificent daughters, their equally good husbands and one absolutely phenomenal granddaughter”.
This will be their second round in Atlanta as they lived here from 1984 to 1991 in Sandy Springs. They are looking forward to the split between small town and urban life and the interaction with the wonderful PHP community and all that Atlanta has to offer.

Green Bag Society
What is the Green Bag Society? By Candace McNair
It is a group of PHP Members made up of all dog lovers, owners and their dogs. Most dog owners carry green poop bags with them at all time! Green Bag Society is a play on the habit and is a fun name of the group. The purpose of the group is for owners and dogs to meet each other. We discuss our common concerns and just enjoy our pets. All dogs are different and have different experiences in their history. We share experiences to learn from each other and understand why some dogs bark, pull on leash, or act out in various ways. We want to support each other and make our lives at PHP with our four leg children the best that it can be.
Tips: I have an excellent dog trainer that has come to our meetings and helped with a pack walk, problem solving, etc. Some owners have hired him to work on training the dog and owner. Ken Cappello, Ranger Dog Training, 404-309-6730. He has really helped me. There is a web site that sends alerts on dog food recalls: Alerts@dogfoodadvisor.com I also subscribe to Whole Dog Journal, a newsletter that reports on all things dog.
In the spring we will have an afternoon Yappy Hour. Drinks and fun for us!!! NEXT MEETING: March 15, third Wednesday of every month, 1pm in The Junction
Questions? Contact: Candy McNair 404.561-0548 or Caroline John 678.642-8482
