Did You Know?
Each week, we will be including Member questions about our community. If you have a question you would like answered, please send it to Lauren Tash, Director of Lifestyle Services.
This question was referred to our HOA Board (Andy, Kevin, Dave, Donna, and Rusty French who is currently an advisor to the HOA Board). Here is their response.

Q: What options do Members have regarding poor cell phone coverage in the residential buildings?

A: Peachtree Hills Place does not provide cell service on campus. There are a number of cell service companies that provide cell service such as Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T. Some of these vendors’ signals are stronger than others. Most providers say that they have plans to improve service in our area. None of the providers approached by management said that they would put a cell tower on campus to improve service. Thus, Members have a few options of their own to improve their cell service:

  • Check to see if another provider offers a stronger signal.
  • AT&T can install a phone line in your condo that is hard wired through our fiber-optic network. You can contact AT&T directly and order a phone line.
  • Most if not all cell phones have an option of Wi-Fi calling. You can set your phone to transmit and receive over any Wi-Fi network you can connect to. If you have Wi-Fi service in your condo and poor cell service, this is a good option.
  • If you can get a cell signal in your condo in any one location, you can get a cell phone booster to boost the cell coverage. Contact your cell service provider for options.
This question was referred to Amanda Dumich, our Executive Director. Here is her response.

Q: How can Members be prepared for tornadoes?

A: Atlanta occasionally may be in the path of a tornado or severe storm.

If our area is in danger of a tornado, the weather service will issue one of the following: a Tornado Watch (a condition that could possibly generate a tornado) or a Tornado Warning (a tornado has been sighted in the area).  Without proper precautions, storms may cause severe damage and injuries. By following the below procedures, we will be as prepared as possible.

Tornado Watch – Be aware that if a tornado does reach the area, all items on your balconies (including furniture and planters) are potential hazards to you and your neighbors. Please secure these items immediately or move them safely inside your home.

Tornado Warning – In the event of a “Tornado Warning”, you should move away from all glass doors and windows to an interior room of your home or the fire stairwell. If you are in the Club area, move to the nearest fire stairwell. If you are in the parking garage, go into the nearest interior fire stairwell or Member Storage Room and wait until all danger has passed.
