CHRISTOPHER SWANN LECTURE
Join us on Thursday, January 20th at 4pm in the Georgian Room for a lecture with acclaimed writer, Christopher Swann, as he discusses his new novel A Fire in the Night which is about Highlands, North Carolina, a town many of you know well. Christopher Swann is a novelist and high school English teacher. A graduate of Washington and Lee, he earned his Ph.D. in creative writing from Georgia State University. He has been a Townsend Prize finalist, longlisted for the Southern Book Prize, and twice been a finalist for a Georgia Author of the Year award. Croquet Instruction

Winter Acrylic Painting Class
Calling all New or Experienced Acrylic Painters! John Martucci will offer Acrylic Painting Lessons for eight weeks beginning Thursday, January 6th from 1pm-3pm in the PHP Art Studio. Downton Abbey: The Exhibition

This wonderful exhibit is based on the beloved television show. You will be transported to post-Edwardian England, where the characters & the iconic house come to life. Movie Talk with Alexa Foreman on "The Sting"
Join us on Tuesday, January 11th at 1pm in the Georgian Room for a Movie Talk with Alexa Foreman as she returns to discuss The Sting. The reunion of stars Paul Newman and Robert Redford following their teaming in the legendary Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid (1969) was a cause for celebration. The movie earned 10 Oscar nominations, winning 7 of them, including Best Picture and Best Director for George Roy Hill, who had also directed Butch Cassidy. The Oscar-winning ragtime soundtrack adapted from composer Scott Joplin led to a resurgence of his work. Don’t miss this fun behind-the-scenes talk on The Sting.
Winter Clay Ceramics Class
Join us for another 8-week program, Winter Clay Ceramics where you will learn a variety of ways that clay can be used to construct both functional and art forms. No prior experience, skill or talent is needed, just a desire to get a little dirty and explore the medium of clay. Classes are taught by Janet Schneider and will meet on Tuesdays, January 18th, 25th, February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and March 1st and 8th from 12:30pm-3pm in the PHP Art Studio. PHP Book Club
Join us for our monthly PHP Book Club! Meetings are held regularly on the third Thursday of each month at 4pm in the Bridle Room. Below is a schedule of upcoming dates and books.

DNA Results Lecture
Join us Thursday, January 20th from 7pm-8pm in the Georgian Room for Buckhead Heritage’s January program,“I’ve Got My Online DNA Results, Now What’s Next?!!” led by Ken Thomas. Ken writes a column on genealogy for the AJC and will use his own DNA results to show what all the interest is about. Christy Morris will join with a short program on “How Do You Join A Lineage Society?” Click here for more information about the speaker. Dream House at The Alliance Theater
Join us for an outing to see Dream House at The Alliance Theater on Thursday, February 3rd. We will leave PHP at 6:30pm for a 7:30pm show and return after the show. This play follows two Latinx sisters on an HGTV-style reality show who are selling their family home, hoping to capitalize on the gentrification in their “changing neighborhood.” It is the winner of the 2021/22 Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition. Cost is $58 per Member and there are only 8 tickets. Men's Tuesday Bible Study
Our Men’s Bible Study, led by Jim Phillips, meets every other Tuesday at 10am in the Duckworth Room. Our next meeting is Tuesday, January 11th. Coffee will be served and we look forward to seeing you! 

As a reminder, Jim has taught adult Bible Study for over 35 years at Second Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons and Peachtree Presbyterian where he is currently a member. INTRO TO AMERICAN MAH JONGG CLASSES
Sign up for our Intro to American Mah Jongg Instruction taught by Shawn Martin! This class starts from scratch and covers learning the tiles, reading the NMJL card (required for American style play), the mechanics of the game, basic strategy, scoring and betting, and playing with 2, 3, or 5 players. Dates are Fridays from 1pm-2:45pm for 4 classes on January 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th in the Bridle Room. Cost is $95 per Member. Croquet Equipment
Members will need to pick up their own mallets and balls from The Junction when going to play croquet. We ask that all equipment be returned after playing.
