Each week, we will be including Member questions about our community. If you have a question you would like answered, please send it to Jayne Ann Milling, Concierge.
|
|
This question was referred to Amanda Dumich, our Executive Director. Here is her response.
Q: Why don't we have a Beauty Shop, IT Consultant, etc. on campus?
A: Peachtree Hills Place is in a good neighborhood in an urban area with a lot of goods and services readily close by and available. Most of our Members come from the Buckhead area and chose PHP because they could continue to go to their church, their doctors, use their housekeeper, and perhaps their hairstylist or barber. We think supporting and staying connected to the community by supporting the businesses is a good thing. This is true for services such as “computer support” and other amenities that are readily available in the Buckhead area.
For example, we didn’t think we could support an in-house beauty shop given the local competition and our Members' desire to stay with their current hairstylist or barber. There are two nice salons within walking distance in the neighborhood and a barbershop in Peachtree Battle Shopping Center. Additionally, any Member living on campus is welcome to patronize the full-service beauty shop at The Terraces. The menu of services can be viewed here.
