Mark 13:13 (KJV)
13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
ENDURE-from <G5259> (hupo) and <G3306> (meno); to stay under (behind), i.e. remain; figurative to undergo, i.e. bear (trials), have fortitude, persevere :- abide, endure, (take) patient (-ly), suffer, tarry behind. Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary.
Mark 4:17 (KJV)
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
I have always thought that the THIRD Seed sown in Jesus' depiction of the SOWING OF THE GOSPEL found in the above Verse was the most dangerous:
Mark 4:18-19 (KJV)
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.
BUT number two is equally dangerous.
Again, when Jesus was proclaiming the signs of the end of the world, (as we now know it) He said:

13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Now, brethren, ENDURING is not fun or enjoyable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This sermon will most likely NOT produce many LIKES or hearty agreements.......
For over 50 years I have heard tale of Jesus soon coming-FIFTY YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!
For most of these 50 years I proclaimed it myself JOYFULLY.
Now I wearily speak it in hushed tone-JESUS IS COMING.
And for many, if not most of us, AMEN!!!!!!
2 Timothy 3:1-5 (KJV)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
An American election is now soon to be decided!! Some are rejoicing at its outcome, some are mourning.
But the TRUTH is nobody wins or loses-no matter the political outcome!!
SALVATION is never to be found in political gain or loss.
Someone much wiser than I described a beautiful RIPE peach at its perfection.
That peach has reached the pinnacle of its existence here on earth-it cannot now nor ever can be more ripe or perfect.
It can only deteriorate.
Or, as Sir Isaac Newton proclaimed:
“WHAT GOES UP MOST CERTAINLY COMES DOWN!!!”
God's people have always been in the minority. We are called to be the leaven- the yeast- that is added to make the dough rise.
Galatians 5:9 (KJV)
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.
Jesus compares us to SALT!!!
Matthew 5:13 (KJV)
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Salt is never the MAIN dish but a necessary additive.
Salt FLAVORS and also PRESERVES.
SALT is NOT, however “just” a flavoring or additive-it is a NECESSITY for life.

Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV)
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
All a light can do is LIGHT.
Whether others will come to the light and/or HEED the light is not our responsibility.

4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.
18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
