Lamar CISD Board Launches Community Conversations
This spring, the Lamar CISD Board of Trustees is launching a new Community Conversations series. Lamar CISD parents, staff, students and community members are invited to engage in a discussion with Board members about what's happening in each area of the District. These meetings will also include food, giveaways and services available to Lamar CISD families. Visit the Lamar CISD website for upcoming dates and join the conversation!
Lamar CISD Celebrates School Board Recognition Month
Lamar CISD joins districts across the state to honor the countless contributions of our Board members and thank them for their willingness to serve our children and public schools.

Board members serving Lamar CISD are President Kay Danziger, Vice President Kathryn Kaminski, Secretary Mandi Bronsell and members Joe Hubenak, Alex Hunt, Jon Welch and Joy Williams. 
Fulshear Volleyball Claims State Championship
Congratulations to the Fulshear Charger Volleyball Team, which claimed the 2019 4A State Championship after a 3-set victory over Hereford at the State Tournament in Garland, Texas. This State Championship is Fulshear's first state title and Lamar CISD's first volleyball title since the Mustangs claimed the title back in the 1966-1967 school year. 
Lamar CISD Students Receive QuestBridge Scholarships
Lamar Consolidated High School seniors Bryant Valladares and Tia Moore were recently selected as QuestBridge College Match Scholarship recipients. Valladares will attend Yale University and Moore will attend the University of Chicago. QuestBridge is a national non-profit organization that connects the nation's most exceptional youth with leading colleges and opportunities.

Tamarron Zoning Process Underway
T he Lamar CISD Zoning Process is underway to determine who will attend Tamarron Elementary. Members of the Tamarron Elementary Attendance Boundary Committee (ABC) will meet in January and February to make an attendance boundary recommendation for Tamarron Elementary, which is located in the Tamarron subdivision. The Lamar CISD Board of Trustees is scheduled to approve the updated attendance zones at its Feb. 20 meeting. 
Lamar CISD Strategic Plan
As Lamar CISD continues to be one of the fastest-growing school districts in Texas, it's important that the District and community have a shared vision for the future. With the help of the Lamar CISD community, we created an inclusive strategic plan during the 2018-2019 school year that includes five strategic priorities:

Parent Information Nights: Naviance and Xello
Lamar CISD is offering Parent Information Nights at the secondary campuses to learn more about the Naviance and Xello platforms. Naviance is used for high school students to help plan their futures and provide guidance on post graduation career options. Xello is used by 6th-8th grade students to explore unique opportunities for high school and beyond. Click the button below for upcoming dates.
Men Who Cook Set for Feb. 22, 2020
Sample culinary delights from local “celebrity” chefs and enjoy live music at Lamar Educational Awards Foundation (LEAF)’s 2020 Men Who Cook fundraiser on Feb. 22, 2020. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at Safari Texas Ranch. Proceeds from the event will support ideas and classroom projects proposed by Lamar CISD teachers that would otherwise go unfunded.
