Things!
Burn them, burn them! Make a beautiful
fire! More room in your heart for love,
for the trees! For the birds who own
nothing—the reason they can fly.
-an excerpt from the poem, Storage, by Mary Oliver
This Lenten Season, we will be using the poetry of Mary Oliver, specifically in her book, Devotions, to guide us through this sacred time. With this unique lens, we will experience the ancient practice of Lent anew—with fresh words and images paired with stories of Jesus that we’ve heard most of our lives.
Join us! Whether for Ash Wednesday service and pancakes on March 2nd, or our Lenten Study or Lenten Taize Services on Wednesday nights, by participating in the mission opportunities we will offer, or by reading the Lenten devotions that we will share each week. All of these things prepare our hearts for the most holy of days – Easter – when we celebrate new life and new beginnings.
And in our hearts—let us prepare a place for light to shine.
Rev. Sandi Dillon

Please Update Your Contact Info in Breeze
Our church uses Breeze, an online church management software system, and you are all are invited to create a Member Access account. Through this system we maintain our member records and contact information as well as track your generous giving. We have noticed that many address are no longer correct. Please login and create a Breeze account or log in and update your information (address, family, email address, etc.).
There are a few ways that you can create an account if you haven't already done so.
You may go straight to the church breeze webpage (office.breezechms.com) and create an account from there, or you may have gotten an email invitation from the church office.
If you go to the church webpage (office.breezechms.com), you'll enter your name and email - if it matches a record in the database, you'll receive an email to create an account.
If you got an invitation to set up an account, you won't need to enter your name or email.
Either way, once you receive the email to "Create An Account", click on the link and from there you'll set up a username and password. That's it! You're all set.
Contact [email protected] with questions about what you have access to, or how to edit your information (based on your permissions).

Vacation Bible School 2022
Adventure Island!
It’s time to think about Vacation Bible School and how you can be a part of this summer's fun….. Discovery on Adventure Island!
VBS will run for children 3years old and potty trained through completion of 6th grade, August 1st-5th, 9 -11:30 AM Mon-Thurs and 9-12:00 on Friday. Registration will open April 4th. The form will be on the church website and included in weekly church emails. Anyone interested in helping to support this event by spending some time with our attendees, decorating or donating, please reach out to me to find out how you can be a help to us. One way we could use some help right now is to spread the word, invite neighbors, friends, cousins, grandchildren, you get it, tell EVERYONE!
We will be using all safety protocols recommended by the CDC and state health department for schools and childcare facilities to help guide us to host a safe and healthy Vacation Bible School. We look forward to seeing returning faces and new faces. My email address is [email protected]. I would welcome your time, thoughts and ideas.
We are doing some Lenten education along with the “I Am” statements in Sunday School. We are looking forward to the return of the church Easter Egg Hunt and will be asking for donations for filling some eggs in the next few weeks. Contact me with any questions or drop off arrangements for these donations if you’d like to donate soon.
Blessings,

There are lots of ways that you can offer your gifts in service to our congregation – looking for a way to be more involved at WPUMC? Here are a few opportunities:
*Ushering – online or in-person! We schedule individuals for a specific Sunday a month for their ushering “shift”. Online ushering doesn’t require you to be in the building, but to engage with online worship participants. In-person ushering requires your presence, and includes greeting people and helping with offering and communion. Email Rev. Sandi at [email protected].
*New Baby Meal Team - Volunteers Needed!
Wash Park United Methodist Church and Preschool are organizing a team of meal providers from our church and preschool communities that would be willing to offer meals to preschool families that are welcoming new babies into their home. All of you know that when a new baby arrives, life can get hectic. We'd like to make sure that all of our families with new babies feel supported and cared for with the delivery of a meal or two. If you are interested in joining this team to provide meals--please contact Rev. Sandi at [email protected].
*Sunday Morning Liturgist! If you’d like to help offer a greeting to our worship participants, lead the call to worship and read the scripture, email Rev. Sandi at [email protected].
There are lots of other ways to volunteer at WPUMC – if there is something specific you’d like to share, or if you are interested in a certain area of leadership, please contact Rev. Sandi at [email protected].
