John Welsey preached to “Gain all you can. Save all you can. Give all you can.” This October we will be observing our stewardship season, where we consider what we have and how we might use those gifts to support the work of the church. John Wesley sets the bar high in terms of stewardship, and he followed his advice with every penny he had.
What might we learn from Wesley’s dedication and commitment to using money as a tool to enhance the Kingdom of God?
During our stewardship campaign, we will ask our members and friends to consider what they might give to the work of the church in 2026. If you already give, might that contribution be increased? If you’ve never given before, could you consider a small gift this year? Next week we will be sending out “estimate of giving/pledge cards” for you to record your giving for 2026, and we’ll collect all pledges through the month, culminating on a commitment of all the gifts on October 26th.
While this is about keeping the lights on at the church and paying our staff, it also is about our individual and family offerings to God’s work. Thank you for taking the time this month to consider what you have and how you might give.
Grace and peace – Rev. Sandi
