Vol. 67 No. 17 ✥ April 29, 2026

May 3, 2026 ❖ The Fifth Sunday of Easter

Lessons: Psalm 31:1-5, 15-16; 1 Peter 2:2-10

Sermon: "Sustained by the Cornerstone"

The Church’s identity was designed to be built like stones into a spiritual house with Christ as our cornerstone. It is in this kind of community we are sustained and can survive all the world might throw at us. And it is in this community Christ calls us – and others through us – from darkness to light.

Eastertide Sermon Series – Sustained by Resurrection: This season we journey through 1 Peter together to explore what it means to live out our faith in the midst of suffering. Through reading these writings to fledgling churches, we are given a light by which we can survive whatever comes our way, knowing we are sustained by our God.

Anthems:

"O Taste and See" - Vaughan Williams

"O Radiant Dawn" - MacMillan

Worship is live on our homepage and YouTube channel at 11:00 a.m.,

but we love having you with us in the sanctuary!

We will receive a Benevolence Offering for local ministries this Sunday.

RainBowls will be at the exits to receive your offerings as we leave worship.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY, LAKESIDE!

Many thanks to our staff, Missions, Spiritual Formation, and Youth & Children Committees for all their hard work on our CBF Offering for Global Missions emphasis in April, especially the excellent Missions Marketplace we held after worship on April 26. We are also grateful to have heard from Jessica Hearne, CBF Field Personnel to Danville, VA in Sunday School, worship, and at our luncheon.

As of April 29, we have raised over $3,500 for the CBF Offering for Global Missions. Final tally to come after April 30!
