Dear Tulsa Classical Academy Families,
I hope that you had a joyful Easter weekend with family. It is good to be back in the building. Nevertheless, at some point in the future adding Monday to this weekend may be advised.
We are working to make some changes to the virtues and their definitions. We had a great meeting with board and discussed some changes. The changes are minor. Nevertheless, they will be added to both the student and staff handbook. We will update the website once they are approved at the board meeting. Lastly, we will update the signage in the building, classrooms, and on campus.
Recently, the board sent family and staff surveys out. I hope that you will take the time to complete them. It is generally the case that those who are happy do not complete surveys. We work hard to give your students an excellent education and we appreciate your feedback and we want to hear from everyone. We seriously consider all feedback and discuss any changes that may be necessary to help us grow and to better serve the mission.
I mentioned the family and staff handbooks. They are complete and will be presented at this month's board meeting. Minimal changes were made to either handbook. For example, there were no major additions or subtractions to the uniform policy this year.
The administrative team has completed a new document entitled “The Recovery of the Art of Teaching.” It will soon be posted to the website and available in print. The document itself is primarily for prospective teachers. However, it may serve to more deeply explain our view of teaching and education. It may also assist parents and families to more clearly understand our mission. We are looking forward to sharing this with you soon.
I am grateful for your continued support and patience as we work together toward the renewal of education and the Western Tradition.
Pax et Bonum
Mr. Garcia
