 HEAR US ROAR!
OAK MIDDLE SCHOOL WEEKLY UPDATE
Academics, Athletics, Activities and the Arts

Hello Oak Families,

I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our Back to School Night last Thursday. It was wonderful to see so many parents, guardians and staff coming together to kick off the new school year with enthusiasm and positivity.

Your presence and engagement are vital to creating a strong partnership between home and school. Together, we can provide the best possible learning environment for our students. I hope you had the opportunity to meet your child’s teachers, learn about the exciting things happening in their classrooms, and connect with other members of our community.

I also want to express my sincere gratitude for your generous contributions to the Oak fundraiser! Together we have raised, $62,604. Thanks to your support, we are just $7,400 away from reaching our goal for Oak Fest! This event is a special treat, and your donations help make it a memorable experience for all our Lions. If you haven’t had the chance to contribute yet, there is still time! The last day to give is Friday, September 13. Every little bit helps, and we truly appreciate your continued generosity.

Thank you once again for your support and for making our school such a welcoming and collaborative place. If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Warmly,

Evelyn Garcia

HEAR US ROAR!

Our Oak FUNraiser is in full swing and runs until September 13th. We're excited to share that this event is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and make a BIG impact, but we need YOUR help to get there!

Our goal is to raise $100,000 to support amazing programs like clubs, classroom activities, student recognitions, teacher grants, staff appreciation, and much more. Your participation is key to achieving this goal and ensuring these programs continue to thrive.

To get involved, simply visit your pre-made student fundraising page here: https://app.99pledges.com/fund/OakFUNraiser. Sharing this link via email, text, or social media can really help boost our efforts—every share helps us get closer to our goal!

And don’t forget to send out at least 15 emails to family and friends! Bring your Oak FUN Pass to the front office by September 3rd to win an instant prize and get entered into a drawing for a fabulous prize.

You can download the fundraiser flyer and Oak FUN Pass here: https://oak.losal.org/pta.

Let’s make this FUNraiser a huge success together!

Thank you for your enthusiasm and support. We’re so grateful to have such a fantastic community!

OAK FUNDRAISER

On Friday, Oak PTA launched the biggest fundraiser of the year - the Oak FUNraiser! In years' past we have paid a 3rd party vendor a substantial portion of funds raised to fundraise for us, but this year we're doing it entirely in house, with 100% of all proceeds benefiting our students! Look for an email from Oak PTA 99 Pledges with your pre-made fundraising page.

Oak PTA is looking for sponsors to help us make our fundraising a success! Do you own a business? Increase your profile among nearly 1,000 Oak families by sponsoring Oak PTA! You can donate online at https://donate-to-oak-middle-school.cheddarup.com or print out our Sponsor Form and submit the completed form and your check made out to Oak PTA to the front office by no later than September 13th.

Oak PTA could not do what we do to fund clubs, classroom activities, Leadership/ASB activities, student recognitions, teacher innovation grants, staff appreciation, and MUCH MORE without the support of our generous families - THANK YOU!

Calling all DANCERS! Oak is excited to partner with LAEF and the Los Alamitos High School (LAHS) Dance Program to offer Lions the opportunity to register for a 6-week zero period dance class. The class will be taught by LAHS Dance Program faculty and will take place on the Oak Campus during a modified zero period.

The class is open to all level of dancers, from beginning to advanced, and will culminate with Oak dancers performing in the LAHS Dance show in November. Dancers will come dressed to school each day in their dance attire and will have an opportunity to change before first period. The class will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from October 1 - November 7, from 7:45am-8:25am. The cost of the dance class is $75 and includes six weeks of dance instruction, a LAHS Dance Show t-shirt and a trip to LAHS to dance on campus with LAHS dance program students.
