Academics, Athletics, Activities and the Arts

Hello Oak Families,

I would like to inform you of an important update regarding student entry and exit procedures. Towards the end of last year we evaluated our campus for entry and exit safety. We have since closed the gate by the back building and amphitheater as it is designated as a delivery gate only. This area is not a safe location for student drop-off or pick-up.

For the safety of all students, we ask that you only use the main front entrances for student entry and exit. The back gate will remain closed during school hours, and we kindly request your cooperation in ensuring this safety measure is followed.

As a gentle reminder, I also want to reiterate our cell phone policy during school hours:

No Cell Phone Use or Carrying During School Hours: Students are expected to turn off and store their phones in lockers or backpacks for the duration of the school day to maintain a distraction-free learning environment. If you need to reach your child during school hours, please contact the school office, and we will promptly relay the message.

Your cooperation and support in following these guidelines is essential in maintaining a safe and focused environment for all students.

LION PRIDE AWARDS

Join us in celebrating the remarkable achievements of our 8th grade students, each honored as a Lion Pride recipient! These students have excelled academically and received a special note from their teacher. Their names are proudly displayed on the school marquee, and they had the privilege of attending a celebratory breakfast. Congratulations to these outstanding individuals – we are incredibly proud of your accomplishments! A big thank you to our Oak PTA for their invaluable support in organizing and making this memorable event possible.

PTA REFLECTIONS

The PTA Reflections contest is back and this year's theme is ACCEPTING IMPERFECTION.

The National PTA Reflections Program is an arts recognition and achievement program for students. It is a wonderful opportunity for students to explore the arts and express themselves creatively in the categories of Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography and Visual Arts. These original works of art inspired by this year's theme, Accepting Imperfections, increases community awareness of the importance of the arts in education.

Oak's submission deadline is Wednesday, October 16th.

Bring entries to the main office WITH A COMPLETED ENTRY FORM ATTACHED to the submission.
