We welcomed

THE ONE AND ONLY

Katherine Applegate

to Ramsay Elementary School!

Thanks to our amazing partners

at Old Town Books and the generosity of Bands & Brews, 210 curious 2nd and 3rd-graders joined an inspiring visit packed with elephant facts, Katherine Applegate's writing process, and life lessons. Numerous insightful questions were asked by Ramsay’s thoughtful students & answered with care. Each student received their very own signed copy of the just-released The Littlest Elephant featuring Ruby!

InspireLit’s Summer of Reading is Launching!

Help Make Summer Lit for Every Reader

This summer, help kids discover the joy of reading at the pool, in the park, and at home. Your support puts high-quality books into the hands of children and families who have limited access to reading materials. Together, we can make sure every child has the chance to explore new worlds, build confidence, and fall in love with reading.

Join our Spring2Action campaign to support our work!

From Page to Person!

"This is the best day ever!"

Twelve fourth-grade book club members got to stay after the visit to meet the author of their beloved book club book, The One and Only Ivan, which she graciously personalized for each student. The experience led one student to exclaim, “This is the best day ever!”

Give Books.

Spark Readers.

Fuel the Joy of Reading All Summer Long.

Why Sharing Shelves?

They are Equity in Action

Sharing Shelves may not be the most “Instagrammable” part of the work. Still, they are arguably the most important because they provide equitable access and long-term impact for our city’s most vulnerable families.

The families we aim to serve are often facing urgent needs such as food, housing, and health care. By placing high-quality, diverse books directly in essential service sites we are meeting families where they already are, removing barriers, and embedding literacy and equity in everyday spaces. These shelves ensure that children who are statistically least likely to have books at home have consistent access to them.

Sharing Shelves do not generate the same buzz, but they work in tandem with other community programs to quietly and powerfully transform lives, helping ensure that no child is left out simply because of circumstance.

ACHS Summer Resource Fair

We loved joining so many community partners and excited readers at the Communities in Schools resource fair, where we shared 1,000 books with the community!
